Hello Elaine,
Im not a doc , but its more likely to be RA...
What did your Doc say? is he sending you to a rheumy specialist?
Try googling it....that might help.

Hi I think oa, which is the type of arthritis I have isn't inflammatory, but its all so complicated! Their are so many types, with ra and oa as the most common. GPs tend to deal with oa, at least at first, but I think you maybe should talk to him again, unless hes referred you on to a rheummy. Love Sue PS sorry no real help at all am I? :roll:0

Hi
I have inflammatory arthritis. It is not the same as OA or RA. Basically it is inflammation within the joint which can also effect other arts of your body. the way I get it is when I have a flare up I always get stomach upset, feel sick, have night sweats, mouth ulcers.. basically I have a probem all over. However, the good points compared to other arthritis is that I often have days when I am perfectly fine and dandy.
I am currently being treated for Ankylosing Spondylitis which is a type of Inflammatory Arthritis.
I am still learning a lot about it myself so sorry I cant be of more help.0 -
Hi Elaine
Not sure but I think all arthritis can have flare ups and that causes inflammation. If you look at the top of the page there is a box About Arthritis, this might shed some light on it, you could always talk to the helpline team too.

Hi Elaine,
If you click on 'About Arthritis' this will explain some of the different forms there is. I have Rheumatoid, which is an inflammatory arthritis, but there are many different ones. It is quite different from Osteo which is due to wear and tear.
Have you been referred to a rheumatologist?

Hi,
I have Inflamatory Arthritis which I believe to be like Rheumatoid arthritis but I don't have the rheumatoid factor in my blood. Like RA it's inflamation in your joints.
Hope this helps
