    Hi Peter and welcome,

If you look up arthritis in a dictionary all it means is painful sometimes swollen joint.

Sometimes people can get joint pain for different reasons it doesn't necessarily mean a life changing disease such as Rheumatoid/Oesteo/Psoratic etc arthritis.

What are you afraid the doctor might say? Surely you're more worried not knowing than if you actually have a blood test and know what you're dealing with. It might be nothing you know or just something like a one-off flare that may never happen again..... and if it is something more serious then it's best treated early before it gets out of hand.

Be brave, book an appointment with your GP. :)

    Hello Peter,
    Welcome to the site.

What Linda has told you is good advice. Really the best way of dealing with these problems is to discuss them with your GP. S/he will be able to give you some advice and any tests that may be needed. Don't worry about seeing a doctor for these things, thats what they are there for.

I hope you will come back to us and let us know what the doctor said, as I'm interested. Take care Sue

    Hi Peter

Welcome to the forum. It does sound like arthritis in some shape or form but you do need to find out which one then you can get the right meds and hopefully feel much better. Like Legs and Sue have said see your Dr. and get the ball rolling.

    Love

    Peter

My advice to you is to get it checked out. I started with stiff joints after a nights sleep; difficulty sitting for long periods; trouble walking etc.

The pain of swollen joints is no joke. Your GP is there to help you don't be afraid. They won't stick any sharp objects into your eyes.

Take care and get down to the docs. :)
