Hi everyone - I got the date for my THR today - it should be 20th October. I have been soooo down & depressed lately due to not being able to work, I haven't even been able to chat to my lovely friends here.
I am so sorry for that - I am just reading some of the posts from people in my boat now & fingers (but never legs!) crossed mine will go as smoothly.
Love to those who have helped me before here & hi to all the new people

    Hi Pennie,

That's such good news, I hope it will soon come round for you. To have less pain and more movement will help to lift your spirits as well. Take care and nice to see you. Cris ((( ))) x

Hi Pennie, well done with your date, it will fly by  Well Im 10 days post op, and let me tell you its like I have another life :D No pain; its taken some getting used to, seriously! There is the mundane things like cant bend, lie on your back in bed, help to get a shower etc etc, but i know it wont be forever and at last I can move forward and make plans for days out etc, without having it planned like a military operation ie where to park the car, how far will I be able to walk . Its early days for me, but if i knew 4 years ago what I know now, I wouldnt have been half as scared and wouldve had it done sooner. All the best to you, I have a friend 45, whose waiting for a THR in November, and now shes seen me i think Ive reassured her. jk

    Hi Pennie,

As you're hurting it'll seem to drag till the week before your op and then you'll wonder where the weeks/days have gone. I spent my time beforehand making lists, ringing round and very gradually filling my little suitcase - but then I'm a self confessed control freak and I wanted to keep the family in order even when I was away from them

Roll on October and I hope your spirits have lifted now that you have a goal to aim for.

    Luv Legs :D
