Anyone else having trouble getting hold of this drug? I've been trying to get some for a week and have only a few days left now. The pharmacy I use for everything else told me there's a problem with production and they don't know when they'll get it in again and then a friend told me they were having trouble getting hold of it as well! I will live without it, I use metho, sulfa, naproxen, etc. etc. as well but just wondered if this problem was all over the country?

Thanks so much, thought I'd read it somewhere too but couldn't find it when I searched. I'm going to try some larger chemists tomorrow if no joy I guess I'll have to try the rheumatology dept. at the hospital!!0

hi,good luck ive got oa,but i'd be worried if i had to go without my meds as much as they do  but i'd rather have them go without.
im sure i'd just not operate without them.
cant face seizing up.the bigger branches should stock them surely,if not the hospital would be the best contact.
prehaps theyve stopped production for the tamiflu, you never know
hope you get it sorted, debsx0 -
Hi,Have just returned from holiday and read your posting.I have been having difficulty in getting Hydroxy. I went to every chemist where I live and only one had Hydroxy,in fact, they let me have the last one months supply they had in stock. No one seems to know what is happening except that there is some difficulty with the supplier.I may have to ring my GP and see if he's heard anything. Not sure what we can take if Hydroxy is not available.0

Still havn't been able to find a chemist that has stocks of Hydroxy. It appears there is a manufacturing problem and there is no date for when manufacture of the drug will resume. Have any of you managed to get a supply? Breane.0

Hi
According to the BBC news website (health section) there is a shortage of quite a few drugs, so it may be worth having a word to see if your doctor can prescribe something similar. Hope this is some help to you but at least you are not alone. Take care0 -
I have been having trouble getting Plaquenil from my Sainsbury's pharmacy in central London for the past 10 days. I enquired at a large branch of Boots today and was told that they do not have any in stock and their computer system says 'Do not know when supplier will have stock available'. Seems to be a widespread problem with no immediate resolution then....0

I picked up a few months supply from my Chemist last week no problem - it was Boots in East Kilbride0

Re the trouble in getting Hydroxy.I emailed the manufacturer of this drug to try and find out what was happening. They emailed me back just saying there was a production problem and that they have no idea when stocks would be available again. :? I have 3 weeks supply left so when I see my GP next week for my last blood test results I will ask if there is anywhere else I can get a supply from, maybe the hospital? It seems some areas do still have stocks left. What happens if the drug becomes permanently unavailable? As far as I know there is nothing similar. Hi - Just tried to get my prescription - been told theres no plaquinel anywhere in Hampshire! Chemist is ringing around trying to get me any she can find anywhere!
Does anyone know whether there is an alternative/comparable drug? I run out in a couple of days & know I can hardly move without it (os & Sjogrens!)
