Hi
I saw my consultant about a year or so ago for a different issue at this time he gave me (or the nurse did) steroid injections, then he was extremely pleasant and finally discharged me.
UNTIL I was referred to him with OA in my hips and at first he again was extremely pleasant and once again I had a steroid injection, that was ok in his book. "UNTIL" the next appointment and I would need the THR, then he completely changed his attitude and was absolutely horrible to me, I was devistated. 1 that I needed a THR and 2 that he was so horrible to me. I was glad that my husband had been with me and heard the way he treated me, because I was begining to think that it was actually me that had imagined it all.
Untill the other day I happened to be talking to my next door neighbour, who is seeing the same consultant and she said that he treated her the exact same way when she needed a operation.
I know that they are trying to cut the waiting list for the NHS, but to try to put people off in this way I think is a terrible way for the NHS to behave, and the consultant should be ashamed of himself, "what goes aroung comes around" one day he will get his hopefully.
