    Hi Joan
That does seem like a long wait doesn't it? Maybe you could ring up the sec and offer to take a cancellation if you can?
Sounds like you are really suffering with the naproxen not working now too :(
Hopefully some of the others will have more advice than me.
    Take care

    Dear Joan

Goodness me, that is far too long to wait. :( I am with Toni on this, and would call in and perhaps even query how long you have to wait, as you are in great pain. Should you get no joy, I would keep pestering every now and again. Would your gp be able to get the wheels in motion a little faster for you perhaps?

    Hi Joan,

I am sorry you had to wait so long. I think i waited around 14 weeks and it must just depend on how many and what space the clinics have I guess. Take care, Cris x

Hi, mines took 6 months but it went to a Specialist Consultant who'd seen people with Epidural abscesses before (quite rare) so I assumed that's why my wait was so long. But our hospital covers a very wide area too so must have been hundreds waiting.

    Dear Joan,

Well that is a month better but still not good is it? Did you ask them to call you if there is a cancellation at any time? I suppose lots of people do that, but it is worth a try if you didn't.

You could try your luck again at the end of August...... if you don't ask, you don't get!!!

That is good new you will be seen earlier. It is hard waiting, especially when you are in severe pain but I can honestly tell you my Pain Clinic has changed my life completely.

I was unable to walk due to crippling sciatica and since my meds were changed at the clinic I have had sciatica only once and this was due to being abroad in a hot climate and not needing my meds so much so not taking them.

Hopefully a cancellation might come up before then.

    good luck

    Eck

    Hi Joan,

I know you asked Eck but well I am wearing my goat costume and butting in  The pain clinic specialise in alleviating pain and so have a different approach to musculoskeletal disorders I think. Mine certainly has a huge understanding of reflected pain which Consultants maybe less aware of. They are very good at taking out the pain and with less pain the movement becomes easier if you see what I mean.

I hope you have as good a reaction to the treatment as I have had. Luv Cris x

Hey Eck, I really am so pleased for you :D x

    Hi Joan

Have you ruled out "restless leg" syndrome. I suffer from that and it can be dreadful at times. Mine tends to come on most in the evenings and in the night.

    Hi Joan

Hope you do manage to get an earlier appointment. The pain clinic Dr. can sometimes tell you what the problem is if not he can ask your Dr. to refer you to various specialists. Mine has sent me to 4 so far as he's never seen what evers going on with me before  Hope the next consultant has so I can get sorted out. He can also give you different meds as well as injections. They are pretty good :)

    Hi Vonski,

Mine says a moan or rant is good for you and actually encourages it. Fingers crossed though that it will all get sorted soon.

    Love

    Hi Cris :D

Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterized by unpleasant sensations in the legs and an uncontrollable urge to move when at rest in an effort to relieve these feelings. RLS sensations are often described by people as Tsensations range in severity from uncomfortable to irritating to painful. The most distinctive or unusual aspect of the condition is that lying down and trying to relax activates the symptoms.

It ain't nice!!!!:lol: Hope you are ok!
