Hi Everyone,

Thought I would drop a note and let you how I am getting on. Still on crutches non load bearing for another 2 weeks. Have some light physio to do as I have been told that both legs are very weak. When I go onto half weight I will get hydrotherapy, which is good.

Down side is looks as if my left hip is going the same way, knew it would happen as all the signs were there but have been told I have lost some movement in it.

Overall good days and bad days. I am trying to be good & take it easy but as you all know on those good days you want to try and make the most of it.

Still pretty housebound but hopefully start going out soon.

Thanks for listening and all your support.

Anne

    Hi Ann,

I am glad to hear its still on track for you. Its too often the way isn't it that when one goes the other gets worn out but once you back up and about properly again it may be some time before the other needs to be done.

The hardest part is all the resting and I hope that bit will soon be over for you. Keep going gently at your own speed and you will soon be back to normal. Take care, Cris

    Hi Ann

Thank you for letting us know the latest. It is difficult to be "good" on the better days and not do too much, but we have to try and remember to be patient and not get into the syndrome of "doing one step forward and two steps back. I have got that right, haven't I? I am sure you know what I mean

You will be ok - you will get there in the end. :D

    Luv

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Hello, Glad to hear from you, glad that you'r managing, I know what you mean about the temption of good days, but its so hard when you want to make the most of things. Sorry your other side is going, I suppose its only to be expected, although maybe when you start baring the weight between both legs, it'll be easier for you. Good luck, love Sue

    Hi Ann

Sounds like it has gone well :):) It's still early days though and I know it's hard but try not to push yourself too hard, the physio will do that  Try not to think about the other side yet.

    Love

    Thanks everyone.

Must admit physio is not my favorite but I know I will need to do it to build up the strength in my legs. I have been lucky in that I got 10 sessions of Hydro last year and because of that will be going back into the hydro pool to start off the physio.

Trying not to worry about my left hip but it's at the back of my mind. Going back to see consultant in 2 weeks time so I will mention it then.

Thanks again for all your support.

    Hi Anee
You are doing just fine I reckon. Better than I would be coz I am a wimp!!
Maybe the left hip will be happier when the other one is able to take over more and it can have a rest? It must have been working so hard. I understand your worry about having to have that done too, but your experience has been good hasn't it? You wouldn't fear it too much would you?
Hydro is lovely isn't it - the best kind of physio there is! As you say it's got to be done.
Do let us know how you get on with the specialist.
    Take care

    Toni,

Yes hydro is the best type of physio. Must admit never been sporty or any good at that kind of stuff even at school. So physio sounds like a nightmare to me. Hydro though is so much easier in the nice warm pool. I know I am lucky to have been offered it again.

Trying to forget about the left hip and concentrate of getting the right working again.

    Thanks Again.
