Methotrexate, have you tried it

Hi,
I was on methotrexate (15mg) for 3 months along with sulfasalazine. My blood test results showed they were working well and kept my symptons nicely under control but i'd get a thick head for the following 2 days after taking it and could hardly muster up any energy to do anything. The rheumatologist has taken me off them (last week in fact) and increased the other drug now. Apparently this side effect isn't common. Apart of that i have a very positive view of the drug and would resort back to it if nothing else helps. I'll have to see how i get on with just the sulfa. Anyway best of luck.
Best wishes,

I've been on MTX for about 5 years now - full whack of 25mg, syringe, every Friday.
I did intially take tablets but I couldn't bear feeling sick most of the time, so they got me on to syringes. Much better.
I've found it to be fine and it's helped my psoriasis too. That said, I think they're looking towards puttting me onto anti-TNF in the near future. I feel as though I've entered the 'next phase' of arthrits if that makes any sense.
Good luck. I hope you do well.0 -
