Hi, I've been to see the plastic surgeon for my 2 monthly check, and she is pleased with how well its healed and thinks my grip is good again and the feeling in fingers as normal as ever it can be. Which isn't bad. She examined my other wrist and offerred to inject it or put me down for surgery, but I said it was no real problem, so I have to go back in 3 months time and let her see how it is, as if it gets too bad the nerve is damaged and can't be repaired. She said I may feel more like facing more surgery then. She said the pain in my hands and wrists are arthritic and not treatable for her. She was so nice and explained what had been done, why and why, I should think about the other hand soon. She touched my wrist and the pain shot up my arm like a needle and I couldn't help making a noise and she was so appologetic. Better go now, Love Sue

Good to hear that your two monthy check was a success and you are well in the know about it all now and the ball is in your court as to what you wish to do next.
Hope you have an enjoyable, rest of the day.

Hi Sue,
Glad she was pleased with you and keep your options open on the other one is a good ideas. You will know when and if you want to have it.
I think they expect a degree of squeaking from us, my pain clinic one seems to rely on me doing that to know she has the right place!0 -
Hello Sue,
I have been following your progress with great interest as I am due to have the same Op.
Good to read that everything is going well 2 months on re returning hand strength, healing etc.
Sue hope you don't mind me asking a few questions:
Are you glad that you went ahead with the procedure?
Is there anything that you wish you had known before hand?
Do you have any advice for me on the practical side of coping after?
Just a bit concerned as its my Right hand(predominate) that they are doing first.
Any info... good or bad welcome! lol

Glad she is pleasd with your progress. I can understand your reluctance to have surgery again so soon though
She sounds very geuine and clearly knows what she is talking about.

Mine was my left hand which and my right had is predominante, so I was lucky, but I will, in time , have my right hand done. Its made a difference to my sense of feeling and grip, and stopped all tingling. I hope you have a successful time. Love Sue

Hi Woodbo
I really hope my tests get under way soon goodness knows how long I shall have to wait. The pain has been awful today and despite the splint during the day and the one at night, it is so painful in the mornings and my right hand is not much better either and if I do get back to painting after all the things that are happening here at the moment, I shall be doing a Renoir and taping the brush to my hand.
How long did you have to wait for the different stage of the treatment, from electo test to operation?

Hi I'm sorry that you are having so much pain and finding painting so difficult, good if you could sell a painting for as much as a Renior is worth now!
I had my first tests in I think, about easter time maybe earlier, and then about a couple of months to the op and I was using the hand about 3 weeks afterwards, 2 weeks after I had the stiches out and this is my 2 months since op check-up. I think I was very lucky, everything seemed to flow, with one appointment after the other. I hope you soon hear something. Any point in phoning them up or seeing your GP and getting them to tell the hospital how much pain you'r in? Just a thought, and they can't shoot you for trying!

I'm glad it all went to plan Sue and I don't blame you for not rushing into surgery.

PS Your post to Scorpiojack seems to have gone a bit strange - I'd be interested in knowing the answers also.Love, Legs x
