Hi All,

Well the aumblance did arrive at 1.15pm arrived at hospital at 1.50pm , went in gave the letter say down then was called ( thought that was quick ) only to be told it for to get weighed and height taken 5.5 height , weight 14st 4lbs , then was told to wait in the room to be called , when I saw this woman doctor she called me into her room asked what has happenewd from my last visit told her about getting steriod injection and that the surgeon wanted to do major surgery I ased what she thought she said I do npt want to get involed its up to you and the surgeon to make a decision .

I told her about my neck and my brother having anykling spondilitis ( sorry about spelling ) she said I dont think its related
told her my arm is killing me described the pain and she said ' I dont know what that is , she wrote things down , then asked me to go over and sit on couch and take my shoe sthingys and roll trousers up left leg was able to move ok , but right leg is hard to move ( she never helped me with my shoes are socks ( my other rheumy did) she said right back on , then wrote out for bloods and said well I dont think you need major surgery on your hip yet but thats surgeons call . she then took me round for bloods and that was it , she never said she would review me again.

is it normal to get just bloods taken at the 2nd visit ? I am left with my arm killing me it goes rock hard at times and the pain is awful .

    Hi Mike

What a shame the the Rheumy didn't do more, where does that leave you now, you still have a lot of questions you need answering but will your Dr. be able to do that? Could maybe try the person you see with your diabetes but would they know?

Hope you do get some answers soon.

    Love

    Hi,
I'm sorry that you didn't get too well with your appointment. At least she did take bloods, I suppose if they show anything your GP will be informed, but its a shame she didn't make an appointment for you to discuss your bloods, and just follow you through. Maybe you can discuss it with your GP? Love Sue

I hope I am right in thinking that she hasn't discharged you. She has done bloods hasn't she?
She may well be doing different ones to previous ones (mine did some extras for me as he now suspects stills(!) last time i went. You have given her new symptoms so she might want to rules stuff out.
Is there a blood test for ankolysing spond for instance?
Hopefully ( I really really hope :!: :!: ) you do get some answers soon.
She's prob right about you deciding about the surgery - doesn't want to take responsibility eh :!: :?:
Shame you had to struggle with shoes and socks though. That's a bit off isn't it? Not even a nurse in there to help? Surely you cannot be the only person who find that sort of thing difficult?!
Well you take care - at least the apt is over for another however-many months eh? :)

Hi, I just wondered, if you need surgery, doesn't the reummy have to refer you to a surgion? Maybe thats whats happening. Its a shame they don't make time just to give you a few simple facts about what they want to do. It must be horrible being left in mid air. Apart from your GP, I can't think of anyone to ask.

    Hi Mike

The people you eventually get to see do definitely appear to be contradicting each other, big, big time, don't they? None of this is helping you at all and must be most distressing.

One of these days, at one of your appointments, you are going to blow a gasket and perhaps that may shake someone up, into doing something for you, getting their facts right and stop mamsy pamsy-ing around with you and your health issues any longer.

From what I can see, you have had a non service from your health service for a long, long time. Does everyone you talk to where you live say the same sort of thing?

If you feel able, a strong letter written to someone or other, not sure who, would be a good idea, quoting names and dates and letting them know how abysmally you are being let down by the health service where you live. Some people you have been seeing, who are meant to be looking after your health, need to get a shake up.

    Chin up,

    Love

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.
