Well back fom my first appointment with rheumy. Mainly had x rays bloods and urine tested(as they lost my first blood test) and urine showed an infection(so had to repeat that) BUT was given a steroid injection into my wrist(and don't really know what to expect from this so advice please) and fitted with a splint which I have to wear for the first 24 hours and then only at night and when I need support during the day for the next 6 weeks until my next appt. Have to go to GP in 2 weeks to get results from tests. So really no nearer knowing what is wrong (as he just seemed more concerned about the diabetes and urine infection) and just wondering what happens next.

Hi Topcatt
Sounds like you ARE no nearer finding out. Two weeks isn't too long though and maybe you'll get some answers then I forget - are you on any meds to help?
Glad you had the jab and can I echo I would be interested to hear how you get on.
Try not to feel too disappointed for now - at least you are in the system :?:
Thanks Toni x0 -
Hi - for allwho have said they are interested - 36 hours after I had a steroid jab (which to be honest is not that pleasant) BUT for the 1st time in over 4 months I am relatively pain free and have at least limited mobility back in my left hand so at the moment I feel overjoyed. Am not on any other medication at the moment as nsaids made me sick so was taken off them and have just been using heat therapy and paracetamol so you can imagine the sort of pain I was in so anything is a real big improvement for me. So only two weeks now until I see GP and get results of all these tests and then hopefully start on some sort of medication programme. At least now I can begin to see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel (oh and this is also the first day that I haven't felt completely wiped out with it)!!!! so another positive. Thanks for being interested and will keep you updated. x Denise0

Hi Topcat
Brillliant news that the steroid jab worked so well. I hope it sees you through to your results and hopefully then meds to help more long-term.

Hi
It looks like you got some positive support, and you will soon get the results. I am wearing one type of splint for the day and another for the night. Might be interesting for you to investigate that. When you get your results and if it does show you have RA, CTS (Carpul Tunnel Syndrome) anything like that, then ask for a referral to an Occupational Therapist who will help lots with treatment and supports.
Everyone else has given you ideas and help so all I can say is 'hang on n there, 2 wks is not long. Let us know how you get on. Everyone on here are mor than willing to give advise and help.
