Hi
Just wondering something
I have inflammatory arthritis in my sacriolic joint and lower back. I also have 'wear and tear' of my left knee.
I am due to see my Rheumy next month and am pretty sure she is going to want to inject my hip with a steroid injection as that was what she was going to do preiously but changed her mind. I have since been taking between 14 and 15 mg of Prednisalone which have been marvellous. The thing I am worried about is if I come off the tablets and get the injection will I then have a flare up of my knee??? Or will the injection in my hip help my knee aswell?

    Hi Bailey
That is a thought isn't it? I don't know the answer, but one of us probably will  Dif to say coz I thing maybe not - I think it's the ones in your bum musclefat bits that do 'everything', but not sure.
I'm having one in my hip/bursa thingy on 28th, but everything else (touch wood) is ok at the mo so...?
Will you have finished the pred before then? Or is that a long-term thing?
    Take care

I am not sure. My GP has given me enough Pred until I see the Rheumy again and has left it to me to monitor the dosage. I have reduced to 14mg this week ffrom 15mg and it seems ok.
The hip injection is uder xray so not sure whether they would take me of the tablets beforehand (I hope not) as I would probably have a sperate appointment for it.
Shame we cant stay on them forever!

    Hi Bailey,

If its being done under x-ray its going to be the steroid into the joint (I think they use cortisone?) I hope it will help you and good luck. Cris
