Hi all!
Now im in much less pain in my hip (and consequently other joints too - mind i do still have plenty of arthritic bits left!) i have started regular exercise, which is new for me!!! i was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for toning the tummy - which i can do safely with my new hip, and if anyone has tried pilates, what do u think of it?
would love to hear your advice,
cheers, jen x x x

Hi Jen
I haven't had a THR but I have done Pilates and loved it. It is so gentle but really does build up your muscles. Had to stop because I couldn't get down onto the floor but I do hope to go back to it. It is definitely worth trying it.
Love

Hi Vonski
I often wondered about Pilates.. like you I can't get on the floor (OA in both knees). I'm desperate to find some exercises to strengthen my thigh muscles so I'm strong before any ops.
I've bought a little foot cycle thing from Arg.s this morning to see if I can manage cycling from a sitting position. I used to use our exercise bike but had to stop last December as I can't make the full rotation on the pedals.
The health professionals say exercise but they don't tell you how and what is safe.
