Hello again, This forum is becoming addictive.....lol
Ist post was the tearful one but was feeling much better as day went on and was due to this posting .
I tried to have painkiller day free and stuck with it for 2 days only to realise that when i went shopping last night i could barely lift things of the shelves like juice and milk!, my wrists have become so weak this last week?.....again i told my little boy of 4 and he said this morning " Dont cry as you could have asked me to lift things off shelves for you". Needless to say after bad morning i am now back on pain killers again, perhaps i should not be so stubborn! and listen to my body.I rarely took any form of pain killer up until now and do wonder how long you can keep taking them?
Thanks again Karina xx

    Hi Karina

What a lovely little boy you have :) If you want to try and manage a while longer without the pain killers see if you can manage just taking them when you have something to do like shopping etc. If you are taking them long term most people have to increase the amount they take.

Hi, I agree with Vonski, your little boy sounds lovely, do you have any splints? they would help to you to lift things etc, perhaps you should see your gp he could give you some stronger painkillers, hope you soon feel better love Jaspercatxx

What a sweetheart your little fella is Karina. First he sings to make mummy better, now he wants to do the lifting for you.

You are obviously all over the place at the moment, bewildered, confused, frightened. Running aound trying this and that. If you could perhaps relax a little - easier said than done, I know!- I feel you will get a better understanding of what is happening, and will be more able to deal with it.

Keep posting, and a big hug for the little man......Ange.

Hi, The Pain Clinic doc came up with something which, at the moment anyway, helps me a lot, I have tramadol, but instead of haveing the sort action 4 times a day sort, I have the tramadol slow realise tablets, which I take twice a day and they give a more measured release that lasts a longer. I don't know if I've explained this very well but I find this method really works for me at the moment. Take care. Love Sue

I am glad your pain killer helped as the day went on. your lad sounds like mine. they say the lovelyest things and they are helpful at that age my son is also four and i dont think i would have coped with the disease as well if not for him as you have to do things for them and they keep you going and make you laugh. :)

try to get as much rest as is possible hope u feel bit better soon joanne

Don't children keep you going ..... when my youngest was 2 and my RA raging I carelessly missed the towel rail and the towel fell to the floor. I cursed, stood looking at it considering how far away the floor looked when a little voice behind me said "Me pick up '****-it' Mum"

They can turn your tears to laughter.

Accept your son's help Karina it'll be less effort for you and make him feel good

    Hi karinak

Your little boy sounds so lovely, caring and mature.

Have you tried wrist supports? I have a pair made by Scholl that I use when my wrists need some help. I have had them for a few years, so I hope they still make them. I tuck them under my jacket sleeves if I wear them when I am going out, but they do help.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    Best wishes.

Thanks to all again for help and support...............big hug to all from George and I X

I mentioned to Rhuemy about supports for knees if i excercise (not that they are playing up yet) just precautionary and he said no as muscles could weaken and best left alone!,but i can see the benefit of wrist supports for shopping so thanks to all x
