had mri scan on my hand last friday

if i ever say on here that they want to do an mri, please remind me to say no!
it was awful, i had a full mri scan done a few years ago and vowed i'd never have another, but the hand specialist assured my they'd only scan my hand so it would be far less traumatic, oh no it wasn't!
i had to lay on my front (hard enough to start with!) with my bad hand in a big box splint thing then my other arm in a very akward position stuck up in front of me and then they put me half way into the mri tunnel, being face down made me feel more closed in than last time. i had my finger on the panic button and was trying my hardest to not press it, eventually 20 min later they brought me out to my great relief, although i was crying by then, only for them to inject something painful into my other good hand and say "right back in for a quick scan" argh!
it was a horrible experience and for the rest of the day i felt sick and dizzy, not sure if it was just from the experience or what!!
so any way at least it's done now and NEVER AGAIN!
just have to wait for results now.
sorry again for not being around much, i'm having a rough time at the moment with sickness and alot of pain in my shoulders and knees, joy!!!
but 'm trying my best to keep up to date on posts and reply when i can.

Hi Sue,
That sounds like a very bad time but I really hope it will give some ideas on whats going on and that you soon feel your normal self again. A ((( ))) for you and you take care, Luv Cris x0 -
Hi Sue
That sounds nightmare-ish. Let's hope, you having to go through all that they find out exactly all they wish to know from the scan. I have had two and really do not jump up and down at the thought of having another one, if I am honest. I am sure if you had had a moment to think about going in again you would have said NO.
I am sorry to hear things are not too good for you at the moment and I hope you feel much better soon,
Luv

i was ready to push the button way before they let me out the 1st time, you know when you are thinking next time the noise stops i'm going to to scream and press the button, then i'm thinking that if i press the button and stop it i'd have to start again, then the relief when they took me out, and through the rears i could hear them saying "if you don't want to carry on we can stop" but i knew i'd only have to go through it all again!
still, it is done now, thank goodness!!!
hopefully the scans will show what the problem with my thumb / hands is and they can operate to sort it.0 -
Oh Sue, I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience. Isn't it awful when you'vbe had a bad experience before having that build up to it again. I always used to think "in a few hours it will be over" to try and comfort myself.
I think it sounds like you did very well to endure the MRI and you should be very proud of yourself.
At least it's over now. Try and relax a little and just think positively that you'll get the results soon and have a clearer picture of what's going on. My MRI caught everything and I wouldn't be where I am now without it. I really hope this will be the same for you.
Take care of yourself.

Hi, That sounds really awful. Being so uncomfortable and shut in is horrible. I don't mind closed spaces but when I had my neck done I had a splitting headache when I came out and I was only lying on my back. Hope, at least, it proves worth it.

Hi Suz
What an awful experince! I think you have been very very brave  Well done for doing it. You did so well.
Now I hope they have the information to get you sorted.
Once your'e there you are stuck between a rock and a hard place he? It's done now!

I've only recently come to realise how difficult and sickening these tests are for folks. You've had a tough time of it and I do hope you feel better soon and that it will be worth having gone through it all to help give you a diagnosis/further treatment.
