Hi all,
I thought i would update everyone on my Ginger tea experiment ( on myself). To recap, i have RA and was supposed to start MXT but deferred it. I was taking Arcoxib but it raised my BP and as i suffer fro hypertension this was becoming dangerous. I ceased taking thr arcoxib and began taking 1gram of ground ginger everyday in the form of two cups of tea. One morning, one evening. The tea was simply ground ginger with hot water. The news is good. My morning stiffness is much reduced and the pain is quite tolerable. My wrist joints have strengthened and i can exercise with weights ( my upper body strength has collapse recently). Contraindications are some digestive problems. I discussed my experiment with my Gp ( not my consultant!) and he seemed quite pleased. It could be a natural remission; it could be a placebo; it could be the ginger tea. The only facts are i feel much better and have not needed to take arcoxib. The experiment is now in its 6th week. i am not suggesting anyone else try this and ceratinly not that anyone give up existing medication. We are all different. However, it is good news ( for me) so i thought i would share. i will let you all know when i am forced back onto the paramaceuticals :) George

For you, personally it dosen't matter whats causing the effect, the really good thing is your feeling better. Placibo or brand new wonder drug and thats really great. You would need to know if you were planning to market it " Uncle Georges Wonder Tea'....now theirs a thought for making money! take care Love Sue
