Stopping MTX

Hi everybody
Finally saw Rheumy yesterday, should have been seen April but staff shortages etc.
She thinks that MTX doesn't appear to working as arthur is definitely worse from when I started MTX been on it exactly 1 year, increased twice. Hands especially affected, which was why I had to stop working, was a secretary. The only difference I had noticed since increasing dose was nausea which got worse as dose increased. To see if MTX was doing anything she has asked me to stop and let it leave my system and then consider further treatment. I'm happy with this but what's worrying me is what if it was working and arthur took it as a challenge to do his worse. He is not going to win, I want my hands back.
On the lighter side I have a pathways to work interview on Monday, it will be interesting to see what jobs they think I can do. Fay

Hi Fay
The only way as they say is to suck it and see! I hope it is ok and that arthur is not sneaky!
Then there are other options for you to try. Youyr rheumy sounds helpful - some keep on increasing meds to no avail and don't like to admit they don't work do they?!
Good luck with your appointment to look at work oportunities out there. I really hope they can find you something.
Good luck and let us know how you go on.

Hi Fay,
What's the bet on that the pathway interview person tries to get you a job involving typing etc?? With your poorly hands, thers not a lot you can do is there?
Good luck with stopping your mtx, hope that it works.
