Hi everyone
I went to my GP on Friday. And he still won't do an xray. He said that it was due to the radiation etc.
I explained that the podiatrists I'd seen had all seemed surprised that I hadn't had one. Anyway he's going to contact the last one I saw to speak to him. So maybe something might happen at last.
Does anyone know how to find a surgery that would have a GP that knows about arthritis? I've seen about 6 GPs at this place and each one refused to do an xray or any tests.
My OH was incensed to say the least. He thinks I've got ME/Chronic Fatique Syndrome as he's been on a website and I've got most of the symptoms.
I'm at a loss to what to do next?
Thanks
Christine

Hi Christine
I don't know how you'd go about finding a GP who knows about arthritis but you could try making a complaint to the practise manager and explaining all you just did in your last post. Something might be done then?
Are you seeing a consultant at the hospital or waiting to be referred? It might be worth keeping a diary of your symptoms.
If you're not satisfied with the way the practise handle your complaint, they should give you information on how to take it further.

Hi Nina
OMG this about my 5th attempt to post something. I keep hitting the wrong keys...
My GP said he was going to speak to the podiatrist so hopefully I'll hear from him soon.
I did see a consultant but he didn't say much, it was only when I saw the letter at the drs that I saw the words osteoarthritis.:(
I did have tests to rule out RA, but the GP who did them was only there temporarily.
I have a friend whose girlfriend is a paediatric rheumatologist, so I'm going to speak to her for some advice.
Anyway onwards and upwards, hopefully..
Take care
Christine
