    Hi Alan

Good to see you posting tonight but sorry to hear you have eye problems. I do not take metho but I have been having very sore eyes really bad some days. Years ago I was diagnosed with dry eyes and had hypromellose artificial tears to use but after a very long time the symptoms all went away.

It has now come back with a vengeance for the past couple of months quite regularly and I want to "tear my eyes out" but the hypromellose drops don't touch it. I have an appointment with the gp tomorrow at 8.10 am and hope he can help me. Since making the appointment 2 days ago my eyes have been alright, but I definitely have not been imagining it.

I hope someone can advise you on here.

    All the best,
    Elna x

I'm on Methotrexate too but just working up to my full dose. Just wanted to say perhaps you should see your GP about your eyes. They could at least check you over to see what's happening. Methotrexate can lower your platelet count which can make you bleed more easily. Hope you get some answers soon.

Hi Alan, nice to hear from you again, I have this problem with my eyes, they weep alot and then go very sore and painful, my Rheumy says it is due to the RA and not the MXT, I would suggest that you talk to your Rheumy nurse about love Jaspercatxx

    HI Alan

I have RA and was told I had Sjorgens which is dry eyes and mouth and apparantly it goes hand in hand with RA.

I have been on MTX for over 9 yrs now and I think my
eye problema are due to the RA, and not so much
the MTX, as I only started with eye probs about a year
    ago.

My eyes itch but they arent red.
    Maybe go see what the
doc says. It must be uncomfortable for you.

Hello, Iv'e not been on for a while. I just wondered iff anyone
who is on a high level of Methotrexate, has had a problem with sore eyes.
I am on 25mg, quite high, and my eyes have become very, very sore, to the point where a blood vessel burst 4 days ago.
My right eye looked red, and most mornings are very sore, and will not stop weeping.
I am getting a bit worried now, Alanmancunian
Hi been on that dose for years and that's one thing I haven't suffered from. Hope it gets better soon
