Hi, sorry to be a pain, but the doctor i saw on Friday asked me if i have or had any rashes on my face or body, or sensitivity to light. I completely forgot to mention the rash i have had actoss my nose and cheeks for a long time, as i cover it up with make up. I wondered if he was asking due to the MXT, but i now think it may be because of lupus, as they were looking into it previously and ruled it out as i said it all seemed RA symptoms. Will mention it to gp but my next app with rheumy is not until Jan 22nd. Am i making a fuss, or should i say something, sorry to go on

Hi Jay
First of all you are not being a pain and you are not going on.
I think you have hit the nail on the head why you were asked about any rashes on your nose and cheeks. That can be a classic sign of lupus so I understand. Perhaps you should mention it to your gp and see what he says about contacting your rheumi or you could phone him yourself or leave a message with his secretary so the ball is in his court then. It seems a long time to wait until your next rheumy appointment. Perhaps it could be brought forward if your rheumy or his secretary is made aware of this rash and feel it necessary to see you earlier.

Hello, Hi, Its alway the way isn't it, you forget something and remember as soon as you come out.
I think the idea mentioned of phoning the secretary and telling her is the best thing, that way it can be added to your records and if the doc thinks he needs to see you again, they will send you an appointment. Its better to give them the information straight away, incase it effects the treatment thats best for you.
Take care, Love Sue0 -
Hi, I would mention it to the gp and your rheumy secretary. Can you take photos of the rash? Its a good idea, though daunting to go to hosp appts without makeup as they can see your rashes esp if you have photosensitvity as you can react to the lights.
I wouldn't worry overly though, whilst it is important to get a correct diagnosis the treatment is the pretty well the same for RA and lupus.
Take care
