Oooooooh congratulations! :D Someone on here wore pink crocs with their wedding dress. I am sure you will find a pair of shoes that are both suitable and comfortable.

Hello, Congratulations...... Sorry your ring dosn't fit at the moment, but at least you've still got it. I lost mine the day after getting it. A long story, it fell of my finger into the river, but the Oxford Uniniversity diving club found it. :D

Anyway, you'll have loads of fun choosing your dress and making the arrangements. As for shoes, I'm sure you'll find something to fit the bill and lets face it, if you'r wearing a long dress, go for comfort!
Have a great time and don't forget to send us all some cake!

Thanks All, im very excited we have been together since 2005 :o and have been through alot and i wasnt expecting it lol! I surpose i just have concerns about the artheritus and restrictions it may cause. Ive always wanted a winter wedding since i was little lol but thats not really ideal with artheritus but at least my theme is multi-useable as i want diamond white and pink yay!!!

    Thanks again

    Many congratulations!
I wore white ballet pumps under my dress as it was long and you couldn't see them anyway. Definately go for comfort - no one ever sees the shoes!
I can no longer wear my engagement ring because fingers are swollen and also from weight gain from steriods, and so I have just bought a cheap £10 ring from M&S as a stand in. Luckily I can still fit my wedding ring on (just!). I know I WILL get back to wearing my gorgeous proper engagement ring, but in the meantime it's nice to have a substitute.
    Enjoy all the preparations.

Congratulations, we'll have to have a virtual hen night for you. :) Don't worry about footwear, with so many open sandals and soft leather/canvas shoes you're bound to get something comfortable. Delighted for you.

Congratulations, this will be the best day of your life.

We had a massive Las Vegas themed wedding as that's where we were going on Honeymoon! We had an Elvis impersonator, favors that were chocolate casino chips and cards and a balloon recreation of The Little White Chapel at the Alter 9we married in a Hotel).

Afterwards you are like "wow, that went so quick and all that money!" but you never regret it. Enjoy every minute as it flies by so quickly. Don't worry about weather or anything, it's honestly the last thing on your mind on the big day.

Hope you enjoy all the planning!

    Congratulations!
I'm really pleased for you. I got married in March and I was worried about wedding shoes too!
I eventually got some online at Henry Kaye, they were called victorian boots. I couldn't wear high heels so these were perfect. I could even put some padding in the bottom to cushion my feet.

The day was wonderful, I was totally pooped but it was worth it!!

Good luck, enjoy the planning and really enjoy the day - it goes really fast!!

    Congratulations!

If you wear a long dress then you can get away with flat shoes.

Weddings take a lot of organisation but I'm sure you'll make the right decisions.

    Congratulations!

Let us know how the wedding planning is going.
I cant give you any advice as I am still waiting for my man to ask me after 12 years and 3 children together.
Whenever I mention marriage the colour drains from his face!
I think you should go for a winter theme wedding if that is what you want.If you are worried about the cold making your arthritis worse could you get some nice warm material for your dress? You could do loads of things to make it all wintery and beautiful, fake snow, white fur,ice statues...
Have fun with the wedding arrangements,
    Take care Tkachev

    Hi Vicky,

I missed your post yesterday so I just want to add my congratulations too. What wonderful news. I'm sure your RA will be fine on the day but you may be a bit tired the day after. You could visit your GP/Rheumy to see if you could have something a bit stronger in reserve if you feel you need it - sometimes just knowing a safety net is there is all you need.

We can all form a choir to sing at your wedding if you like

    k020.gif

..... and I do have a pair of black, lace-up Olive Oyl boots I'm willing to hire you - they'd go well with your frock I feel - just let me know if you need them.

Hi. regarding your swollen hands. Try and get referred to an occupational therapist who will help you get your hands better
    or
    try a manicure and pedicure

Where I live, there are a couple of vietnam girls who run a parlour and I went in and had a pedicure one Sat & then I went again the next week. My feet and ankles were so swollen and they hurt me quite a bit with all the rubbing with a speciall pummy stone. That was about 6 weeks ago now.
My feet and ankles are incredible now. I went to get some more sandals last sat and came away with size 5 instead of 6. Even the shoes I had bought for my son's wedding 3 weeks ago were too loose and they kept falling off. Good job I had taken some very soft and comfortable ones with me.

Just an idea you could follow up. it might work for you.

Congratulations to you - have a fabulous time planning it all and don't worry about a thing - there is always a solution somewhere! You can get gel insoles which make most shoes comfortable for a few hours and as for rings well it took 11 years for me to get a ring of my now husband and now it doesn't fit but fortunately I have my grandmothers (which she had had made bigger because of her arthritis ) so at least it still has some sentimental value for me!! Whatever everything will pan out and you will have a fabulous day!! :D

Hi, many congratulations to you both, we had a July wedding, it rained prior to going into the church but was dry and sunny for the photographs. We got married in a little church in Wales and had the reception at the pub next door but one, my shoes I bought don't fit me any more, my wedding, engagement and eternity rings are too big since I lost weight.

Hope you will keep us informed love Jaspercatxx
