I was given a assesment for collage to check i was sitting right at the computor and eventually given chair to use while there which supports back . The collage back to work program as you know did not work out for me. If it had you get chairs ect to enable you to work ect
As i do not work and do not think i am well enough to ever. can i get help at home ie leather chair and assesment to enable me to be comfy while at computor at home or do i have to pay for everything.
: Also i am going to a class 2 hours a wk end of sep a social group at a voluntry organization can they get aid to get an assesment done for me?
I dont expect a chair im taking back support cushions with me and making do as it being a social group this wont happen and i cannot manage or want a full time course as disease is varient thats why going to a social group where u learn with out presure to attend every week and do exams.
The place where i am going has only just got funding back as they were on brink of closure they dont seem to have any specal chairs for people with probs and i wish to attend this place as it suits me. can they get funding for this sort of thing. as they dont have anything how do i ask them about funding it will seem cheeky as i only wish to attend a sort number of hours.
I dont know who to ask for the home query and I think i am cheeky to ask about them getting funding. any one got ant advice for me joanne

Sitting comfortably is just so important I ahve to agree.
I reckon colleges may well be able to get funding - have you tried googling it? or psoing the question to the helpline team?
What about doing the same re fundnig one for at home too?
Hope soemone has some answers for you
    Good luck

    Hi

Maybe you could ask your local Occupational Therapist for help or local government office?

Hopefully someone will come up with something soon.

    Take care.

    Hi Joanne,

I hope you can find some help with it all. I use an armchair for the pc........ Its the only way to be comfy for me. The old pc table has a sliding bit that pulls out to rest the keyboard on. When the modem goes and i have to hi-jack someones table its an ordinary chair and your right it does hurt...... Good suggestions about asking o/t etc and surely the college should have something better for you? x

Hi, Equipment for your use at home can be made available if an OT advises it. It may well not be new and remains their property. Thats the case for my neice. In the end the OT helped her choose what to buy herself. She is very disabled and dependant on care for everything. They are getting an electric wheel-chair for her next month, which she is very excited about! :) Love Sue

    Hi joanne
think the OT could be a good one to ask. the lady that i saw was lovely and she told me that in the future, when i need it, she can come to my house and assess what i need. ask rhuemy to refur you have you seen one before?
    hope you get something sorted.

ps tried peppermint tea, YUK ! will try ginger tomorrow :D
