Hi peeps, haven't posted for a long while been poorley , now i have this strange swelling in between my knuckles that feels spongey but feels like fluid, and is symetrical on both hands hands are very swollen at the moment joints and painful, oh yeah forgot to mention i have RA and osteoarthritis :shock:

Snap saw the rheumy mon and he is sending me for a scan on my hands, so will see what the outcome is WHEN I get an appointment.!!!

Hello I've just got oa but, that sounds a bit strange to me, are nodules sometimes soft or could they get an infection? Why not go and see the doc, he may be able to tell you or send you for tests. I'm sorry you'r not so well, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for getting back peeps, i am wondering now if this is a form of synovitis :?: or something simlar, i have never seen anything like this before :shock: my hands are soo stiff and sore at the joints too, they have never been soo swolen, seeing rheumy on tuesday, lets see what he says, in the mean time going to docs, not that they can help, they always say ra is out of our league see the rheumy , i just need to know what it is :roll: cheers folks ps its defo not nodules have one of them on pointy finger :shock:

Hi I have RA and OA. My hands are like that and I have RA in my hands. Take a photo to show consultant how bad it gets. Note your temp if you have a fever or if it is hot or red. Are you on meds for your RA?

No not on any dmards at the moment cannot tolerate them, suppose its getting worse without those, do your hands feel really tight mine do , try and straighten them up and they go white where there is fluid presence .
