Epidural injections

I know I've written about spinal injections before, but this is a slightly different question.
I had some facet joint injections a few weeks ago, so was referred to a pain specialist (anaesthetist) who suggested injecting into the place where it was actually hurting - sacro-iliac joint, and also a "general" epidural over the sacrum.
This was a week ago and progress has been slow and erratic, bit better, then bit worse.
I've been getting some strange sensations around the injected area (very botttom of the spine, round sacrum and coccyx) which come and go, sort of numbness and just - well, a really impossible to describe feeling. Not pain, but not comfortable.
I was warned that things could take up to 2 weeks to settle, and have an apppointment next week, but in the meantime wondered if anyone else here had received epidural injections and what your experience was?
thanks,
eva

it does, sue, thanks - obviously a different scenario, but it might explain the surface "soreness" I can feel.
Lord, this business does get so complicated, doesn't it?

Hi do you think that the numbness is the epidural starting to knock out some of the nerves? May be a good sign. I hope so,

Hi, I've never had them as my space was damaged by my childhood illness and never healed. I did do alot of reading about it in pregnancy though as wasn't aware at that time of that damage. People sometimes have problems after them and you should speak to your GP about this just to ensure everything is ok. I have a friend who had her epidural in childbirth over 5 years ago and started getting migraines right after - she was still getting them until recently when she went back. Defo worth getting advice over, just to be safe.0

thanks, everyone for your input
the feelings keep changing...that't what is so weird.
I am seeing GP tomorrrow anyway, and will ask about it.
The body is a strange thing, or rather the way it reacts is.
I think the epidural is one of the factors that has definitely contributed to the dreadful constipation this week!
 :shock:0
