Very frustrated

Last April, had injections in wrist and elbow. Was told that there may be a need for nerve induction tests. The injections did not work. Saw my consultant again in July because I was struggling with my hand and wrist plust other places. He confirmed that it was CTS and said he would arrange the test. As I had not heard this week when it was to be I rang my consultant's secretary and, guess what? there was nothing in the file about this test, it had not been set up. She said that my consultant was waiting to see what the injections he did in my wrist would do and would they help. I told her that it wasn't July, it was April that he did the injections.
Please tell me, what is going on, is no one listening to me? Is everyone else asleep? With me chasing things up this week, they are now going to arrange for the test to be done and that the waiting list is 6 week. I am really suffering here.

Hi Joy
No wonder you feel frustrated! It is very annoying when they get things so very wrong. Happened to me too - they never told me I had arthritis it was only moving and new GP that it was revealed and that was years later by then I was in utter agony. Thank goodness I now have a wonderful GP who I trust.
Just keep on top of it. They sure won't make a mistake again!!!

hi joyful,im having the same trouble with my neck jabs.
the gp has been chasing up the rhymy to see why i have been waiting over 4 months for an appointment.he has shown me the 2 referal letters from rhymy & is getting as fed up & mad as me about this.
all he has said now is theres a blackhole somewhere,so im left in pain waiting, again.
i had my 2 knees & thumb done 2 wks apart, but my gp also had to chase these up as my rhymy had refered me to himself
think is the usual case of 1 dept not being in contact with the other.
hope you get things sorted,if your feeling like i do,fed up with chasing my tail

Oh Joy, that's really awful.
You wait and wait counting the days and find someone hasn't even made the appointment. What a massive let down, no wonder you're frustrated. I'd be too and blooming raging. It annoys me how these people don't realise insignificant things like filing records can have such an effect on people's lives. Is it so hard to do your job properly?
I really hope you get this seen to soon.

That's terrible Joyful what a carry on. It does seem like some of these medics have no idea what we have to go through sometimes. I'm so sorry you've been waiting on an appointment that was'nt even arranged. Hopefully you'll get sorted sooner than later. I'd ring the dept and tell them you'll even take a cancellation and that the referral was delayed through no fault of yours. best of luck

Hi ,
Its very frustrating for you, I don't blame you for getting cross. It seems like a lack of proper communication, yet again. Would it help if you go and chat to your gp? He may be able to sort things out. I got left waiting to have my carpel tunnel op done, as the rheumy discharged me and didn't write to my GP or the plastic surgery dept as he was supposed to do. My GP wrote and asked for information and suddenly everything happened. :? Maybe this could help you.
Take care, love Sue0 -
I was aware that most of get these frustrations. What I cannot understand is that he had aroomful of students and a nurse hear what he 'intended doing'. This was when he said that my MTX had to be raised. After two weeks, I rang the supplier, Willow Medical to see if they had heard from the clinic, they hadn't, then had to send an email to my rheumy nurse who had not received the prescription or something. The trouble is I have quite a good professional relationship with my consultant and I just don't want to rock the boat. I have become aware of this lack of indifference in the department and they must be fed up with keep ringing the department, but do you blame me. I've lost 4 months of action.
I think, if anything else does go wrong and I seem to be getting the run around, I will write to my MP.
Nevermind, have other things to worry about this weekend. My art exhibition. wish me luck
