Hi Sarah,
I am new to all the tests, appointments and medications that go with OA and RA but one thing I have learned quickly is that if you are not happy with what your specialists or GP's are telling you, go back and make a nuisance of yourself.
The people on this forum are full of good avice and this was the best bit of advice I was given.
If your occupational therapist has said you need an urgent xray, in my opinion that should be enough to get the necessary treatment!!!
I would suggest that you contact your GP and your specialist and see if they can refer you for an xray a.s.a.p.
Hope you get it sorted soon

Hi Sarah,
I agree with Newbury - either get an appointment with your GP or ring you Rheumy's secretary and get your appointment brought forward. If she can't do that get the back-up of your GP.
I think you need to treat this with some urgency because my wrists went like that and now they're stuck in an awkward position and haven't moved for 20 years. I kept quiet and didn't say anything - just put up with the pain and didn't realise what would happen. When I finally saw my Rheumy and had them x-rayed he just said they were wrecked
...meanwhile put it in hot water and try to move it a bit, I know it hurts, I'm sorry and use an ice pack to reduce the swelling and again try to move it.
I'm not trying to alarm you but I just want you to realise how easily the wrists fuse.
Let us know what happens.
