A hot water bottle in strategic places used to help me.A lovely hot shower relieved the pain but only temporarily but then better than nothing.

Hi deddierose I find keeping warm and keeping movement down helps, so does having a warm bath, one thing I don’t do now is once a flare has passed I don’t start to do much for a few day’s as mine (OA) can come back to play with me again if I do.

Hello, I feel sorry for myself, heat up my hot pad and put it on the bit thats hurting and either sit or lie down. The type of pain I get in my back/hip needs to walk to make it a bit better, so I wander round moaning 'Its not fair} with tears rolling down my cheeks, then I feel a bit better....Big Child!!!

What I use if I really feel bad is my heated pad, lay on the bed and keep still breathing evenly and try out a memory of something good, re-living it bit by bit. I go for walks that I know well and in my head I see all the features smell the nice smells, then I drift off to sleep, to be woken up 2 hours later by my husband and I can't help feeling guilty and saying I wasn't really asleep! He just laughs and mentions how loud the cats snor!

Hope you feel better soon, its a dreary day here and that doesn't help! Love Sue
