Hi Toni
That is really good news, hope the smaller needles do the trick but they should have thought about that before.
Cris

It did only last about three hours, but they got another in ok and they've been able to do it slowly so she shouldn't be sick
Hope all is well with you

Hi Cris, so pleased it's been easier for you today - I think the nurses received all our thoughts and that gave them the brainwave - what a clever lot we are
Hope you're not sick and that you have a good rest tonight.
Lots of love, Legs XXLove, Legs x

Hi All,
ONE TO GO!!!!! I shall be so glad!
Wasn't as bad today, the smaller needle didn't last long as it was in a very deep vein and thankfully they managed to get hole of an anesthetist..... Hey tomorrow's could be done by one as well
You have to protect the left arm tomorrow Legs Its now also had leakage and a lot of stabs before a vein was found.
Sue it does feel like a war actually, they have the artillery and I have a bow and arrow
Debs thanks for you message, Toni left it for me in a text when I came out to have some 'sun' (Lynn you'll know what I really was up to )
Vonski, they should have used the small one before but tomorrow if its done by an anesthetist it will be big but shouldn't involve several stabs should it? ((( ))) xx
And all of you well you have really helped me get through this. They are now talking about getting a permanent chest one put under the skin........   It was worrying for a bit but then I kinda thought do I want this pain and soreness every 4 months? Has anyone had one and does any one know what they are? I'm thinking a internal cannula under the skin with a bit sticking out to plug into?
Well if you could all come again tomorrow please? xxxxxxxx
Wonkey slipper boy has taken little legs to the cafe for a bowl of tea and could I borrow her again tomorrow? ((( ))) xx
Toni thank you again for doing secretarial duties and for being on the end of a mobile. Forgot to ask how much do you charge? xxxx0 -
Hi Cris,
So very glad to hear you and reading your post makes me see that you feel a lot better than you did last night.
Don't know about it under your skin but it does sound very sensible - I think the nurses should save their digging for the garden - they could probably start up your vegetable patch for you again
Don't overdo things, just rest, if you can.
We'll be with your tomorrow and it hopefully will sail by 'cos you've done the worst of facing four days - one has to be a doddle.
Take care.

Hi Legs,
They said they could do all my blood test through it as well so I will not have that stabbing and bruising either. They can't use a shunt cus a) with my veins desire to not have things in them it will probably close up and b) my life style makes it vulnerable to either being pulled or infection and I have a predisposition to going rotten.
Thank you for all your help this week xxxxxxx0 -

I Love it Linda! They can go to see Val - she is thinking about starting up a veggie patch for the cafe....!
Cris
It was a pleasure - that's what friends are for
So glad you are SO much better today. Frankly yesterday I was worried!
Take care

Hi Cris,
I just came across this thread and realised that the person being talked about was the same one who has been answering my innane questions about pregabalin.
I can't believe you are so kiind as to bother to gather up the energy to do that when you must be feeling absolutely dreadful. Thanks so much - you are one brave lady.

Yep Lynn, oh tea...... you just can't get a decent one in hospital can you? Hey with the internal one I could drip feed it x
Hi Page,
I wonder if it is? She said it would be in my chest under the skin and well it could help but it may not be comfy? They must have an end that they attach to externally but maybe for me its a good idea? xxx and bubbles0 -
Hi Cris
Glad you've had a better day The tube I had for feeding went into my neck but a friend had one in his stomach to put meds through when he had leukemia wonder if this will be like that.
Good luck tomorrow and then you can forget it for a while.

I have just worked out what the little bit of 'sun' is I think. One more day, hooray.
I like the bacon butties and flasks idea. Shall I bring the donuts for elevenses?
Thinking of you.
Deb x0 -
Chris,
Good luck for your final day, hopefully it will be quick and painless.
Think I have worked out what your 'piece of sun' is, I think? Is it a habit (like mine) which lots of people now consider anti social?
Good luck again.

Hi All,
