Good evening , Just want to share this.........
As my blood count is low but not deeling tired! and my monthlys are still regular although very heavy for 1st 3 days and have to keep heavily padded up inside out and be constantly near a loo!!, i mentioned this to doc who offered me the coil that i ignored, she then took it upon herself to book me an appt at hospital which i recieved today and states that i could have a minor op that day?.......Not only am i peeeed off that she never even consulted me but i really do not want to bare all with me legs strapped up in a blinkin torture harness for a scrape by some young male doctor  .........thats the visions i have or maybe i am just coming to terms with this Arthur chap and want my body left well and truly alone.!. And anyway with my age and possibly facing the menopause thats what happens doesnt it? so why not leave me alone for nature to takes its course :?
Phew.......feel better now take care all Karina...night night x

Hi Karina,
Think she should have run it past you. Maybe you could ask her if she could refer you to a gynie consultant? I had something like that 10 year ago and all it took was an increase on the HRT, I was already on it cus of my bones. Nature may take its course but it could be best just to see someone before a scrap or anything like that. I hope it sorts out though. take care Cris x0 -
Hi Karina
I agree with Cris on this, I'm going through the same thing plus ovarian cysts so have to see a gynae but I wouldn't be happy if the Dr. just booked me in for the stirrup treatment. Speak to him/her and see what can be done.

Hello, I agree with the others, it must have shocked you! You will have to give constent and how can you give informed consent if you haven't had a chance to discuss the problem properly. That seems like a very bad practice. In your place, I'd try to speak to some one first, can you ring your doc? Its usual for the hospital Doc to see you before doing anything, to see what he thinks.
No wonder you'r upset, I hope you can sort it out. Anyway, all my best wishes, and hope everything goes well, whatever, Love Sue0 -
Hi Karina, I used to have very heavy periods too, the gp referred me to the gynae, I asked for a woman, as there is no way that I would have a male doctor looking down there, what happened on my appt day, yes a male doctor!! I refused to see him and got discharged from the clinic, luckily now I am pre-menopausal so these problems do not occur.
The consultant should have spoken to you about the further appt, have you spoken to her secretary? these men don't know what we go through love Jaspercatxx0 -
Hi Karina
If I were you I'd go back to Dr and ask what all this is about?
My eldest daughter 14 is on something called tranexamic acid for her flooding and by the heck has it made a difference!
You take care

Hi, I think there must be something wrong with me, I dread having female Gyne, or did when I was going to the clinic often, many years ago. I don't know what that says about me!!! I do have a female GP, who is very nice but I'd prefer a male!
Love Sue0
