Palindromic Arithritis

Hi am new here - just received diagnosis of above on Friday from Rheumatologist (who also conducted xrays / bloods and ANA test for lupus at appointment as well). Have been living with pain flares in multiple joints for over three years now so I suppose it's a step forward - RA factor negative though. Does anyone else here have this diagnosis as i understand it's quite rare.....have been on PR website but not officially endorsed so thought that this would be a safer bet to get support.

I was originally diagnosed with PA after x-rays/MRI and Bloods....February 2008.
Symptoms just as you describe......Got worse and worse....different Meds made no difference....
June this year GP got me an emergency appointment with Rhumatologist (sp). They did MRI/e-ray/bloods.
The following week got a call to attend clinic..............Confirmed RA. They compared x-ray and MRI scans over the 16 months.......
Started me on MTX straight away........

This site should come with a health warning, its so addictive!
Welcome to it though, its so good to be able to say things that you know people on here will understand, without having your friends and family worrying and getting fed up with hearing the same problems over and over! Its a safety valve, you can let off steam without worrying your nearest and dearest. Its also good to get information from more experienced people. Thats helped me a lot. When I feel low and cut off I can come on here and join in, thats great.:D Love Sue0
