Well, just using this to vent really.
Dad is generally getting better from his surgery and he is wanting to cut down on the tablets for his RA. He went to see a consultant (general not rheumy) the other day who was concerned about his pain and took him off diclofenic and tramadil unless he has bad pain. She took done his tablets but was concerned with his gout (may need operation). He has a rhumey appointment in October.
He wants to get back to Nottingham and as we aren't recieving anything benefit wise (bearing in mind my partner and I are on low wages and you are supposed to recieve at least something while you are being assessed) we decided to make a plan that was in our hands, no one elses.
We thought we could raise capital for him for a flat and then if we saw a job or anything over there we would be in a better situation to set him up for it. He doesnt really want to live on his own right now but while my sister and partner are expecting a baby in November and have a lot on their plate, my partner and I are trying to save for a deposit for a house and towards a wedding which will take years.
We have just sent back yet some more forms. The thing is when he went for his appointment his doctor has now signed him off for another 3 months, but yet we're not getting any help either.
We need one or the other haha. So frustrating.
Rant over.

Good to hear from you. Form filling - a horrenduous task - have you ever completed a sensible, well laid out form, - I have yet to "enjoy" that experience.
Kind regards to you and your dad,
Luv

Hi,
I was retired sick from work in June and I filled in all the forms and they didn't pay me anything and lost some of the paper work and I had to do things twice, but much to my surprise a week or two back, I had a letter and a back payment of the money they should have paid me. So, as we managed on my husbands money, not easy but possible, we have some money to spend - just around £1,000, I nearly passed out, I didn't expect back pay! So theirs hope for you, keep on phoning and asking how they are getting on with the claim, thats what I did, and they discovered that some of the important paperwork had gone missing! I wonder what would have happened it I hadn't done anything? They lost my P60 but I had a copy, I'd say copy any original documents you have to send.
Hope it works out for you, Love Sue0 -
Awww Elna I know, I feel like we have answered the same thing about 5 times in the same form sometimes. The amount of 'personal statements' we've written, blimey
I dont know why he got these property forms, he lives with me!! Well if they don't get it from that then god only knows....but yeah we have yet to 'enjoy' that experience too.
Woodbon...Im so glad you got back pay hope it makes it worth the wait, and I suppose if you're not expecting it or know when its coming its even better.
and yeah I understand about making copies, thats so annoying they lost that for you. I have made copies of sick notes, copies of the forms, basically anything Dad has written on ive copied it haha. Ive made copies of copies!!
Ah well never mind...im going to win the euromillions tonight anyway! Ill remember you all!
