and the result of my foot xray is .....

finally got to see my GP today with the xray results.
I had found a 'bony' lump on the top of my foot. My foot was also painful, so GP thought it may be a ganglian or some other bone stuff, so xray was a precaution in case the RA had gone haywire again (it is never far from crazy anyway! )
and the (good ?) news is it isn't a ganglian
the bad news is that the xray shows evidence of Osteophytes in the area of the metatarsals. which apparently means that it is OA there rather than the RA, and she also said it was a very strange place to get OA - had I broken my foot before? sadly not, so yet another time when I turn out to be 'odd'!
what ever will it be next?! :?

Think I'll give up being 'WOnkylegs' and become 'Wonky full stop'

Hi Wonky,
Sorry thats not so good but is there anyway they can help with some of it? They rebuilt my feet a few years ago and did chip some extra bone out but its limited and it depends on where it is I think? I have broken my feet so for me it wasn't a surprise to them. I hope it settles down and doesn't cause you too much trouble though.
A ((( ))) and thanks for the loan of Little legs, slipper boy is walking her home so they will make his usual detour round all his 'friends' on the wayLove Cris who has just woken up from armchair duties and a bit vague

Hi Wonky
Well calling you Wonky is easier for us, but it's a nickname a term of endearment....
So there be anything they can do about it?
I hope that otherwise you are well?

Hi
Having RA must be bad enough then to top it off with OA in the foot!
You appear to have taken it on the chin. Can they do anything?
I know that OA can cause odd joint formations just below my knees I have protusions that are hard and the size of grapefruits - must be the remnants of my knee joint!
I slipped on Friday and pulled a muscle in my calve of my best leg - we're going to a party this afternoon and I wanted to look and feel good. Now I've got to strap my better leg up in bandages. I'll look a right site - it was bad enough dealing with a severe limp on the worse leg but this injury just adds salt to my wounds!!! I'll put on the slap, smile and sit quietly in a corner.
Take care and good luck with everything.

Hi, Oh dear, I am sorry, it does sound a strange place, but I'm no expert. I hope they can do something for you to help control the pain. Love Sue0

HI & thanks for your good wishes.
I am fortunate that at the moment the co-codamol for the other aches and pains is helping with my foot. It is mostly ok, although when I have been standing/walking a lot it makes itself felt.
I think I have worked out what I have done to earn my pennance
It may very well be all my own fault
As I have grown up I have always been an independent so-and-so and have tried moving furniture on my own when I could have waited for others to help me, and lifted things on my own that would have been better lifted by two people. I often use my knees and feet to help my hands to do these jobs
today we have been in our grossly neglected garden. We have a big gate across our drive, and needed to open it to get the wheelie bin that garden waste goes into. I winced when I found myself putting my foot (THE foot) under the gate to lift it the inch it needs lifting in order to get the latch to open. I quickly stopped, and will have to only open the gate when hubby is here, or get the builder to come and adjust the fastenings.
I took my body for granted when it did work, and now I am suffering for the sake of my pride and not asking for or accepting help earlier!0 -
