What an awful night i had last night that bad that i couldnt lay down whatsoever and had to sleep sat up, each time i tried to lay down the pain in my lower back was that bad it made my tummy tense up (like cramp) for a few seconds then when the pain eased so did these cramps.

I think the pain was doing something with my nerves to be making my tummy tighten up.

I feel soory for the Mrs as i was up every hour or so puffing up pillows and trying to get comfy.

I am so tired now - just thought i would share with you. and hope you are all ok.

So sorry to hear that, Justin and for the Mrs. too. Let's hope you will be able to sleep a little in the day and that you have not got others things that you must be doing. I do hope this pain goes away for you or perhaps it will be another trip to the docs.

    Let's hope not, :)

    Luv

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

    Hi Justin
Sorry to hear about your pain. It's no joke when you can't get to sleep. To ensure my hubby gets a good nights sleep he's taken to sleeping in the spare room. Not sure if what is causing your tummy cramps - are you regular? Sorry to ask a personal question but I had terrible pains until the doc prescribed me lactulose - codeine based meds tend to make you constipated. I no longer take lactulose because it had embarrassing side effects for me! I'm now on Movical which is great.

I tend to sleep fairly well these days thanks to the right mix of meds- especially amytriptiline. Please go and see your docs because a good nights rest is jolly important to arthritis sufferers. We need our rest to have the energy to cope with the following day.

    With warm regards

Thanks - I am feeling a bit better its just when my body stops moving it seizes up and gets painful.

I dont get the tummy cramps through the day more so when in bed at night. Doesnt help with the weather changing to wet and cold i have better days in the summer

    Thanks again

Well my Rheumy told me to get up and walk about if I couldnt sleep, but that wasnt easy when moving was so painful.I usually lie there thinking I will go to sleep soon, but never do!
Better meds will help you in time.
    Take care Tkachev

Or like our house where moving around at night is a task due to creaky floorboards.

    Hi
Its hard to move about because I know I'll wake my husband, we have very noisy floor boards! I can't read, because that wakes him too, and if the cat knows I'm awake she starts trying to climb up and makes a noise! I hate not sleeping and it makes me uptight, which means I can't sleep, silly, isn't it? Still, I hope that I'll be better tonight, I'll take my hot pad up with me.
