So tired today

Hi everyone

Do you ever feel even before you've got out of bed in the morning that it's going to be one of those bad days?

I find just moving the duvet at night really hurts my hands as my fingers are so inflamed due to me being taken off anti-inflammatories since August. Getting out of bed is an ordeal itself and coming down the stairs seems to take ages and all this to make a cup of tea.

Had RA for over 10 years now but I've felt so tired today, have been off work since the end of June as I'm waiting to have two ops, nothing to do with RA. Took my dog out for a walk this morning, did a bit of ironing but my hands and feet are throbbing. I rang up to get an earlier appointment to see my Rheumy consultant, got one about 3 weeks time. Tonight I've got to go and see the surgeon about my op for my ovarian cyst. I just feel that my quality of life isn't that good at the mo. I'm 49, divorced, my daughter's at uni and my son lives at home, he's nearly 18. I would love to get back to work soon, do my garden, go for long walks and enjoy life but I'm just so tired.

Has anybody else been taken off anti-inflammatories? Had a steroid injection a little while ago but it hasn't helped.

Sorry this is a bit 'down in the dumps' post but I just can't seem to snap out of it today.

Take care everyone

Kim xx

I just wish like you that I could have a 'normal' life whatever that is ???? it has been so long that I forgotten. Sorry I can't cheer you up but sometimes it gets better just knowing you are not the only one out there feeling like you do. You take care

Kim my heart goes out to you as you sound as if you have a lot on your plate just now. Do you know when you'll get your ops? 3 weeks seems to be a long time to wait when you're feeling like this, perhaps it would be an idea to see your GP this week and ask advice there? Meanwhile, just try to rest and lay up while you're feeling like this and leave the non important things for another time.
With regard to stopping anti inflamms I stopped mine myself and have'nt told anyone when I came out of hospital 2nd week in august. I've so far not had a flare up and my bloods are all ok although I'm in awful pain at the moment. I too had a steroid injection into my joint and another one in my muscle. Not sure if they really helped or not to be honest.
Do look after yourseolf and let us know how you get on.

Kim, I think the fatigue, is dreadful its like an invisible blanket that envelops you that you can't see or get out of. No one else can see it either and it is frustrating. You do seem to have alot on your plate and uncertainty about the future.

Plan nice things to do after your op, and treat yourself to something nice beforehand. I hope things imoprove for you.

    Take care

Hi, I'm sorry you feel so tired. It can be worse than feeling ill, and theirs nothing to show for it. :? I expect worrying about the comming ops isn't helping you either. I hope everything goes well for you with the surgeon, and that will help you feel a little better.
Try and get as much rest as you can, take care, Love Sue
