Does anyone know if it is safe to take other over the counter pain relief with Gabapentin? I'm up to my max dose on this with 3 diclofenac a day and it's not getting close to stopping the pain. My Doc is away on holiday until October so I can't check with him.

Thanks
Heather.

    Hi Heather
I think I did and i was on the max does (did nothing for me either!!), but you can always check with the pharmacist when you go to buy them.
Good luck and I hope you find something to help

Have checked with the pharmacist at the local chemist and they tell me that nothing you can buy over the counter will do any good. All she suggested was that I go back to the docs and see if they can give me anything stronger. :(

    Hi, yes it is.

I am on max dose 3600mg a day. I currently have bad flu and was advised to keep taking paracetamol along with my other meds by the Dr today, I also swap my diclofenac for Ibuprofen for headaches and that is safe too. I also take Tramadol - 8 a day, but I have Amytriptline which my Consultant said works very well with Gabapentin for the nerve pain. I agree with the chemist, go back to the Doc.

    Hope you are feeling ok.
