well, with much sadness i've had to give up on my lip piercing and take it out. nearly 6 months since i had it done and it hasn't healed, still sore and swollen.
gubby got his done a while back and within 2 weeks it was healied and fine, not fair!
i'm guessing it's the mtx lowering my immune system that has meant it hasn't healed, it's not fair. i knew i should of had it done when i was younger.
i guess that it means that i can't have any more tattoo's done eiuther, yes arthur i truly hate the way you ruin my life!!
sue (feeling sad!)

Hi sue
sorry the lip didnt heal
but it may not be arthur. my OH has never been able to keep any peircing near his eye, he has had his eye brow done and 3 times it has grown out. so he got dermal anchors put in just above his eye brow thinking they would stay in, but again they are trying to grow out.
he has lots of piercings that have healed fine and that he has had for years but anything near his eye never heals.
maybe your lip just doesnt like it but might be worth trying somewhere else, i know you have others already.
please dont let arthur stop you rebelingi know you wont
take care

i just don't know if i want to risk the pain again, i tried to keep it in hoping it might heal but the swelling just never went down.
i would love to have another tattoo but they aren't removable if it doesn't heal!!
maybe i'll try else where, i just always wanted my lip done and now i feel sad!

Its just cr@p isnt it:(
ive got 1 small tat always thought i would get more( at least 1 more anyway) but im on MXT too now so dought i will
i wonder what would happen to a tattoo do you think it would just stay scabbie? yeah that ant a look i would go for.
i know you have taken it out now but did you ever try the silver plasters on it? OH is trying that on eye at mo. the piercer surgested to try it.0 -
I remember when my daughter got her ears pieced, she had difficulty healing, then her naval and then her nose etc etc. You would think she would have given up. She wasn't on any medication because she was quite healthy, lucky girl.
There must be some other underlying reason why this happens. When I had my ears done, they were the only piercing I ever did, coward I am, but it just wasn't me to go any further. I admire some of the piecing that is done. My son has a ring through his eyebrow and another through his ear.
I don't have any trouble with a wound healing and I am on MTX. Perhaps the problems lies with the piercer.

i have had quite a few piercings, in some strange places!!! before arthur and all healed very quickly and are still fine now. but since i've been on mtx i've found other wounds have taken longer to heal, not as long as the piercing but defo longer.
i did speak to a piercer and he thought it was almost certainly due to my immune system. it didn't try to grow out or anything, the swelling just never went down, i tried different jewellery but nothing worked.0 -
I know I am a speed freak and one of my pleasures used to be alton towers. Since my tkr I can't bend my knee properly and am unable to ride some of the bigger rides because of the bucket seats uuuurrrghh! :x0

when did you email me? the last one i got was a while ago.
i'd of replied if i got it, can you resend it please?
in the mean time maybe i'll just wear a fake ring? my eldest ellie is on a residential school trip this week and i know when i pick her up tomorrow she'll (and most of the other parents i know) will ask me why i took it out, i made such a fuss of wanting it done, it makes me feel sad talking about it, silly i know. but because my hubby got his done a few weeks after me, he never wanted it done before but liked mine and his healed perfectly within 2 weeks, it seems more unfair.
oh well!
