    Hi

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having such a dreadful time with MTX. My husband's uncle takes the injections but he lives so far away - when I see him next I'll ask how he felt the first time he was on it. Maybe something is not agreeing with you?
We are all so different. I don't have RA so I just don't know what to say to make you feel better. Only that you should.....
Please, please go and see your GP you can't go on feeling this way.
The nurse is not a doctor - with a condition such as yours and all the pain you're in you need to see someone qualiied.

It sounds as if you've persevered long enough and need help.

Make an appointment as soon as possible and go tomorrow. Plese let us know how you get on.

In the meantime I'm sending you lots and lots of cyber hugs!

    Warmest regards
    Sharmaine

You're not having much luck by the sounds of things. I'd go along to your GP and get them to give you stronger pain killers to help you out while you wait on your october appointment. I do hope it eases for you. It's good to come on here when you feel as you do, there are always lots of people here to help if they can. I'll keep a look out to see how you get on. big hugs, try to hang in there

I am so sorry to hear how you are feeling at the moment. That nurse was well out of order with what she said to you. Please do not give up. Like others have said, please go and see your gp and see if he/she can pull any strings for you - you should not have to "carry on until your October appointment", you need help and reassurance now.

    Luv

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

hi sharmaine my husband posted yesterday and i am just reading them just to let you no we did phone the GP and she has changed his painkillers she is very understanding .I was on the verge of phoning for a ambulance this afternoon but he has fell asleep now they seem to be kicking in he really is having a bad time.None of the medication seems to be working after two years in pain you do start to question whether it is RA even the GP has admitted that it is the worst case she has seen .i would just like to thank you all for your support it seems that you are the only people that listen and no what we are talking about thanks again Alison xx

The MTX does sort of give you cycle of different things through the week.

The day I give myself the injection, I become very tired.
The next day, muzzy head and sore eyes
Third day, every joint affected by RA, OA r whatever becomes quite sore, but doesn't last long.
The nausea or sickness is not so bad depending on what time of the day you take the tablets or injection. If I do mine in the middle of the afternoon, then the tiredness takes over by bedtime.
You are then asleep so shouldn't feel sick. Drink plenty of water after your injection. Drink a glass of water every morning as soon as you wake up. This is what I do and the symptoms seem to be quite mild.
So far, my hair doesn't seem to be getting any thinner.

ASAt my age though 65 you expect to get thinner hair.
