Colder weather causing flare ups

Are you all like me. Beginning to get more spasms, swellings etc?

I'm pretty sure it is the colder breezes. I stood outside talking to one of my nice neighbours today and, although the sun got really warm, there was a chill wind. I just had short sleeves on so when I went shopping afterwoods, on went my long cardigan. I am beginning to buy the long coat cardi's. The keep your bum, thighs and knees warm.
Have had some terrible spasms in my hips and the one last night just as I was about to climb the stairs nearly knocked me off my feet. I stood, all hunched up for nearly 15 mins. I had the strongest pins and needles sensation around both hips and all round the groin area and across my back. Never had it that bad before. I've just got to try and cope until my next appointment on the 5th Nov. I'm sure the Rheumy dept are fed up with me.
Not sure whether it is the Bursitis flared up again or something else.

Now, there's only my shoulders, neck, wrist and ankles to moan about     :cry::lol:

Oh Joy, I am having the same.

The last 10 days or so the dreaded sciatica warning signs have been in my bad leg. Today was the first day I felt the sharp pain just past my knee. The very worrying thing is for the first time since my illness I am having the warning signs in my right leg, the wrong leg!! I told my physio Tuesday I am absolutely petrified, if the sciatica came back like before (which it's starting to look like) what if it was in both legs? I was inching along the floor before howling it was that bad, I am getting very scared now the pain is starting in the other leg, even through all my drugs. I really thought my drugs were working, now I am worried it's been the weather and this is now away to kick off.

I haven't told my hubby or parents about the other leg. They all know me to have a dead high pain threshold and were all just in absolute shock when I was ill before with the left leg, I am frightened to tell them about the right one, they will worry sick and make me worry even more.

Sorry for going on Joy. I am so worried, first time I've put that down.

    Hi Joy,

I am sorry your not so good at the mo, I wonder if you have over done it a bit? It sounds as if it could be a nerve being pressed? If its by inflamation well just try and take it a bit easy for a day or two and if it hasn't got better fairly quickly don't leave it till the 7th of November.

Mine doesn't seem any different cold or hot. Its been unhappy since march regardless of the weather but I prefer the heat so probably cope better when I am happier?

You take care, go careful and don't please leave it til the 7th. Cris x

    Hi Eck,

I really hope its not returning. remember if it does try the pregabalin. xx

Hi, horrible and depressing isn't it mid October. My neck is still and my right knee has decided to join in along with a slight cold and earache! I'm sorry you'r not too good, at this time of year, it seems as if everyone gets really low, mentally and physically. Hope you will soon feel a bit better and maybe the sun will shine, although we need rain here, the soil is so dry and my husband has loads of bulbs to plant! Take care, Love Sue

    Bi Eck

Sorry to hear about your sciatica. My friend from Italy, Nadia, has terrible sciatica, the only comfortable position she can sleep in is a recliner chair. She is lucky in the fact that they have a lovely volcanic spa swimming pool about 6 miles from them and they go by bus a couple of times each week until late September. After that, if the temperature is down to 25, it is cold for her. When she comes to England, I'm in short sleeves and she has her coat on.
What I am thinking Eck, if you have a Beauty Spa near you (I am lucky I have) why don't you look at heat massages for your legs. Have it as a Christmas Present :o:o If you can't, then heat is the only answer. I expect you know all that anyway.

Thanks for your nagging
I know I overdo it. It is finding that happy medium though. Even if I lay down too much I hurt, if I sit down to much Ihurt. I feel as though I need to keep doing something.. Now busy putting a quick portfolio together for next Tuesday. Presenting my work with a view to exhibiting at a theatre near here permanently. Changing pictures though a and when they are sold. So you see I'm always busy in this game. Keeps me from getting bored. I'v got so many projects undersay too.

    Hi
I was thinking the same this morning.
This morning especially even when I turn slightly my back muscle is going into spasm, they not lasting long but enough for me to jump a bit. It really is horrible. Hopefully we'll ge tthis Indian summer and put us all out of pain.
I have even noticed my hands are extrememly stiff this morning, usually I force them into a stretch amd stretch the fingers out and then they are right as rain, but today I cant even straighten my fingers without pain.

Poor Jasper, I do feel for you. Awful when you have nights like that. Use to happen with the kids being sick all night. Why is it that kids manage to be sick (like out of The Exorist) all over the walls, every bed cover and floor. You get it all cleared up and then they have another go. Gosh, can you remember it. Remember, don't give the moggy milk.
