Arthritis and Weird Blood Pressure.....

Hi Everyone,
I sort of hope no body can help me with this cus I wouldn't want any of you to have it. On the other hand I could do with some reassurance..........
I got spondylitis and spondylosis in my neck, its all quite active and as I understand it, and I may be wrong about this, its oa and pa in there competing for the right to take out the joints. I have 2 bulged discs and I think there is a dehydrated one in there.
I got a fairly useless circulation system, all of it is too small for my body and always has been. For that I have the drip.
They take your bp regularly, every half hour and then every hour for the 6 hour your on it and they confirmed what I had already found out with my home bp thing.
There is a difference of between 20 and 30 on the top one and 15-20 on the bottom one in my 2 arms....... Has anyone else ever had anything like this? I am not down over it, I not even sure I am bothered but it does seem very odd........ Oh my neck swells to the left, and its my left arm that is very high. When I had the nerve blocks and the drip soon after both arms were the same give or take 5.
Sorry its very long and well please has anyone had this? Hope alls ok and the bones are not too bad. Take care Cris x

Thanks Page
I'm not too bothered but if the left arm is the true reading ..... well I shouldn't make any long term plans :shock:Its not tough cus i don't feel ill and I would if it really was that high.
See the rumo next week...... Got raised CPR levels from last Lot of bloods so for once something has turned up (other than platelets high) in bloodsWe will have to start with the blood problem (he deals with my circulation) and hopefully then get to talk about the bones cus my wrists are horrible now.
You all ok? Love ((( )))'s and bubbles, Cris xx0 -
Hi Lynn,
Oh I don't think I will ever quite be under control
They have written to the useless doctors and the nurse did both today, it wasn't too bad, one was 130/80 and the other was 168/100 last week it was 110 and last week at home I got as high as 114 on the bottom of the left and 89 on the right...... I haven't got a head ache, I do get occasional chest pain but the left arm just can't be the true reading.
My Theory (hic, hic) is its the swelling in the base of my neck pushing on the blood vessels..... and it well might be as when I had the temporary nerve block done the swelling went down and both arms were about the same.......
Hope you are ok and the sun comes out for you. Luv Cris xx0 -
Hi Cris
I just did my blood pressure and the right arm was 140 over 68 and the left was 146 over 70. So not much difference there. Is the bottom number a bit low or is that ok, do you know? I am on bendro for high blood pressure but as I fainted three times when out, the other month (but that was after a couple of glasses of vino with lunch and the sun moved round and I got the sun blazing on my back), the ambulance crew said my bp was low. It was for the rest of the day but then righted itself the next . This is the first time since then I have bothered to take it again. ..... thinking about it, the top number is a bit high as well   Wish I hadn't bothered to take my bp now!!
Must go now and bring in a large bag tablet salt for the water softener from the bottom of the garden. I will use the wheelbarrow - used to be able to carry the bag no probs!!
Methinks yours is circulatory as you do have probs with that, don't you?.

Hi Elna,
Oh bless you I didn't want to worry you. When I was on the amb service your bp wouldn't have worried me at all so don't go worrying about it its fine. Its a long time ago but the top range was sort of 120-150 and the bottom was 70-80, but fainting is poss a sign its dipping too low at times? Maybe you need the dose adjusted and next time you talk to your gp see what he thinks might be a good idea. Its a fine reading today I promise you.
Yep I have real problems with the circulation but its fairly new that the 2 arm are out by so much. I'm going with the right arm as the real oneI am 90% convinced its to do with this swelling on the left side of my neck and shoulder and thats either the oa or the pa. I see the pain clinic soon and shall beg her to redo my neck...... Elna why am I going to beg for that much pain again
Watch that wheel barrow and don't over do things.

Oh 50 on the bottom is when they start to put you feet right up. I have low bp (normally) and so I go down to 50 and don't feel at all odd. Tell whoever your with next time you faint to raise your legs, you will come round much faster that way. xx0 -

Hey Cris
I hope it never happens again - but I will remember that tip. I don't usually faint all over the place..... Done the easy bit with the wheelbarrow ...... now have to tip the bag upside down into the water softener unit  Then it is ok for another month.
Bless you, Cris, however worried you are, you make light of it, don't you? I do hope all goes well for you at the pain clinic and you don't have to beg for anything! After the pain, it did the trick, though, didn't it..... for a time .....
Lots of love

Hi Elna,
I think this time they may go for the surgery option cus of my bp in the left arm....... I really am not that bothered just its odd and I wish I knew the cause. Hey maybe on the 7th I shall find out..... Just hope there is a bit of time left for the bonesHe is such a nice guy he'd make time but I have a feeling he see's my name and hides under the table....... I know I would

Hi Skezier
and Elna
I think with readings like that you need not worry. My OH has a continual reading of 120 over 60. For someone who is 69, not bad.
A low reading can be worse than someone with a v high one. He suffers bad curculatory probs.
My highest ever blood pressure reading has been 201 over 105 just 3 months ago. I then had an extra 8 mg Candesartan added to the 16 mg at night. Take 8 mg Doxozosin in the morning. I was kept in the surgery for awhile resting until it came down to 178/90, which had been the normal for me for quite awhile. I think it has been the high pain level I have been under for quite awhile now, but now they seem to have found the right level of meds now. Until the next time.
I think we sit here and worry about the new area of pain and perhaps OA is the worst arthur there is.
For my part I must stop getting hot and bothered about things that have nothing to do with me. Then I get hypertension.
up to 140 - systolic is normal 140 - 180 - Mild
over 180 - moderate and severe hyertension - top reading
up to 90 diastolic is normal 90 - 105 is mild and over 105 is mod and severe hypertension

Hi Cris
This has been going on too long, sorry love but you really do need to speak to someone about it. Think you might be onto something with the idea that it's something to do with your neck. Please find out for sure.
You've got me at it now I've done mine 120 over 63 and 105 over 46 so did 2nd 1 again and got 116 over 55, I like that one better.
Love
Vonski x0 -
Hi Joanne,
Thanks and I hope you are ok? Just going to do you a pm ad will send it soon I promise. A ((( ))) and love x
Hi Vonski,
Its all official now, they have it on the screen with the readings from drip week and a letter from the hospital, which means they will deal with it I guess.
I am sure its conected to the pa/oa swelling in my neck, I really do think so cus when it was temp denerved it went to normal. My good arm threw a very high one both drip week and at the docs on tuesday but they had been stabbing me with needles and in the hospital that silly paramedic. I guess I will know more wens?
Th swelling is very ear the side of my neck now as well as at the back and I sticking to the right one being the true readingMind just took it and the right one is 110/69 so I am happy with that, yep the left is 137/83...... Its just odd. Do you think I will morph into two people soon?
Love

hi all,my bp is usually around 189/90 192/90 never any lower gp says borderline high but doesnt give me any meds for it.
shall question this at pain clinic on the 14th.ive had all the readings done by nurse & seen 2 seperate gps about it.
hope you get some answers Cris.
luv debs0 -
Hi Debs,
Some of our pain meds can push it up but I just wondered have you any swelling in or near your neck?
The hospital said they weren't concerned till it went over a 100 on the bottom and if your doctor is aware and not worried then thats good for my right arms high readings. What is a bit confusing is my arms being so much difference between them and I do hope I can find out why. I am sure the right arm is my right reading though.
Hey your appointment isn't long now is it?
Luv
Cris xx0 -
Hi Cris,if you can count muscles that are as hard as rock at the base of my neck & across my shoulders then yes.constantly it never changes.Hot too.
rhmy said inflammation in the trapeze muscles, thats right across shoulders & they never go down, now solid as rock, physio didnt help get them down either.
but he did manage to get neck moving a bit,30% missing now, that'll never come back.
luv debs0 -
Hi Debs,
thats kinda interesting though cus I have that with a bit more swelling on the left side and if my theory is correct, well that may be why yours is higher as well. Mind my theories can be very wrong
Luv
Cris x0 -
Hi Cris,no your proberbly right.my gp & rhmy said its pain that pushes blood pressure up.
my dads got a crumbling spine & he blacks out, oxygen stops getting through to his brain,he had a mini stroke with it too. Both parents have high BP & arthr, but arthr they deny having, just back injuries from ambo service.so i get no sense out of them(you know why)
luv debs0
