Hi folks
After really struggling with my RA my consultant has booked me into hospital tomorrow for a 3 day steroid infusion which will relieve my pain a symptoms for a couple of weeks. However, I am due to go for a medical for ESA next Thursday when my RA will seem to have miraculously dissappeared due to the infusions.
Will they take this into account or is it how you perform on the day. I have been off sick from work for 8 months and I really am not well enough to go back yet.
I am finding the whole system quite impossible. I'm fed up with being made to feel like a fraud, and 'begging' for £65 a week.
Anyway take care

Hi Les,
Its all wrong that you are made to feel like you begging. Your not and they are the idiots. Could you get a letter to say you have had to have a steroid infusion (and could I ask you are they daily or solid for the 3 days?). The fact you need this should tell the ESA people how bad you actually are. Good luck and I hope they will take it into account and it goes well for you. Take care Cris0 -

Ask your rheumy to write you a letter and you could hand this to the assessor when you see him.
I hope you are pain free soon and good luck with your medical assessment.
