Hello,
Had a massively frustrating appointment with not my normal GP today...grrr and I'm after some advice from the seronegative gang on here please? (And sorry for asking yet another question its just I have 7 years worth of arthur questions all stored up....)
Is it possible to have a seroneg spondyloarthropathy with no raised esr/crp? How long did it take to get a proper diagnosis and what helped get you there in the end?
I've just developed a new enthesitis for me and am feeling at my wits end... the last time I was permitted to see the rheummy he asked that the HLA B27 test was done, it fell down an admin crack and now my gp wont refer me back in til I have had blood work that shows raised crp/esr and and emg on by wrists ...grizzle grizzle. I think my orthopod is going to weigh in to help but I have little faith in getting anywhere anymore.
Going to eat rice pudding in a grump
Thanks guys!
Kit

Im seronegative......It took me nearly a year for diagnoisis....
My GP was baffled and sent me to an knee consultant who after many scans etc...said i had torn a cartlidge ( this didnt help with other swollen joints!)...
When he went in to do op...he found that the cartlidge wasnt torn and he sent biopsies of knee tissue and fluid to the lab....these came back as seronegative RA....it then took 3 months to see Rumy....
My bloods show that theres nothing wrong with me still..!!!!( but there is!!)....the rumy takes lots of other things in to account as well as bloods and will start you on treatment....
Its very frustrating i know....im still no better( Sulfasalazine not working)...BUT these things take time...
Good luck

thanks Kay - that's really helpful
I'm going to try and be patient and just wait all the tests rather than throwing a massive hissy!
