Hi all,

Have just got back from the doc's and he's confirmed that I have RA.

Feeling very down right now and weepy.

Have an appointment at Rheumy on 19th October so will probably know more then.

Think I need one of the millionaires suites in Jamaica for me and my donkey!
Heather.

Hi Heather,Sorry to hear you are feeling down. :( I was diagnosed with both RA and OA earlier this year and it came as a shock. However, once you get on the right meds things will be a lot easier. At the moment I'm on Hydroxychloroquine and it seems to be working for me at the moment.Had my first appointment with the rheumy nurse last week and she explained a lot about RA to me which I found very helpful. You will probably find you will get tired more quickly than usual as I was told that this is a common side effect of arthritis.I'm sure you will get a lot of good advice from this site. Take care,Breane. :)

    Hi Heather

You can have any suite that you want except mine.(I'm in the basement thats why )

You must feel down that's natural. At least you have got an early appointment.

It does make you feel down, and it is a shock. I have both RA an OA. I was diagnosd May this year.

Do'nt be on your own come on here and have a bit of a laugh, to make the time pass quicker. There is always somebody around.

You can tell us if you are feeing down, we are good listeners and moan all you want. If you have any worries, someone might have an idea f not the answer.

You can bring the you donkey as well.

    love trisher xxx

    Hi Heather,

I am sorry you have had the shock of this but as Breane says once the medication is sorted it does get easier. You just need to take a bit of time to get over the news. Its good you see the Rumo soon and I really hope they will help you and answer any questions you have. Sometimes it helps to write stuff down as you think it so you know what you want to ask. Th advice on here is very good and I really do agree with Breane the tiredness is hard sometimes. You take care and I hope the appointment on the 19th goes well for you. Cris

Thanks everyone. Feeling much better today.

Can't understand why Trisher is in the basement, is it some sort of punishment??? If so, I demand she is moved to more comfortable surroundings forthwith!

Hi Heather, I am sorry about the diagnosis, but now you know what your fighting and so do the doctors. With the right medication, you should soon feel a lot better, so if you try and think about in as positive a way as possilbe and that will help you, but, like everyone here with arthritis of any type, we all have bad days. I suppose, thinking it, everyone has bad days, whatever. You probably feel a bit shock, thats only natural. I have OA, but its still something you have to get used to. :) You'll get lots of help and information from people on this site, its a very friendly place! :D
    Take care, love Sue
