Hi all I, yesterday I went for a kip as I haven’t been sleeping well as my right flippers has been giving me grief most mornings normally around 0300 hrs, anyway I woke up around 18.00hrs with a dull ache in my right knee and my right outer thigh felt like it had a cold steel rod touching it from the knee to my hip it was very noticeable, with a further feeling like something or some one pressing a finger or into the top of my femur by my hip joint, this again also felt really cold, I also experienced the same of coldness in my quad muscle(inner thigh)just around the top inner area just above the knee cap.
Anyone got any idea if this could mean I might also have a problem with my right hip joint?, I didn’t get any pain with it, and as I sit here tapping away I still have a feeling of a finger pressing into the top of my right hip/femur area. :?

Hi. That sounds as if it may be either circulation or a trapped nerve . I would imagine it would be a nerve as the sensations they can give off are really strange. Maybe you slept in an strange position or something. But I'm no expert, if it carries on you should mention it to your GP.

I have a trapped nerve in my neck and that makes me itch like mad on the top half of my body. Sometimes I could scratch the skin off! I do actually find scratches on my arms which I think I did in my sleep. Hope the feeling soon goes off, love Sue :)

    Hi

It could be a tight or swollen ilotibial band (runs from your hip to knee on the oustide). You could try rubbing it with a tennis ball to try and release the muscle a bit.

    Hope that helps

Thanks Sue and Kit, It’s very odd and quite noticeable, still got it a bit now but at least me knees are quiet this morning!, ever since I had double key hole surgery on my knees I have been getting a similar feeling in my shins and feet from time to time, must be the OA niggling me leg nerves, it’s not painful it just feels really cold, very strange. :?
