Hi, wondering if any of you have had a bakers cyst? I have been getting pain in left leg, aching down leg, mostly in calf, and also a hot feeling like hot water trickling down leg. But have noticed this am a swelling to the outside left of back of knee this am. Do you think it could be a bakers cyst? I have recently been diagnoised with immflamatory arthritis.
thanks alot jo

Hi, I think its a bit like Housemaids knee, only at the back of the leg, but I'm not 100% certain about that. I hope you find out whats causing it, I think it may be a bursa, but again I'm not sure. I hope I haven't confused you, but I'm sure someon will soon be along who knows more about it! :) Love Sue

It does sound like a bakers cyst, if you feel wet trickling inside your leg it has probably burst! I have had this and it comes and goes!

    Hi Jo

I had a Bakers Cyst last year behind my left knee, its when the joint produces too much fluid due to imflamation and it squeezes out to form a cyst, really was quite painful sometimes. After 6 months when it hadn't gone away my Rheumy injected it with syeroid and touch wood 6 months later it hasn't come back...hope this helps..

    Love Barbara xx

Had one of these a couple of years ago and mine burst. I must admit I felt a bit sqeamish when I was told what it was but the physical relief was immense.
