I don't do christmas card lists, you give me a card, i'll give you one back, simple.

Sounds uncharitable but the times i've written them out for work colleagues and while given them out you realise you've forgotten people! So embarassing

I used to say, 'oh i've got so many to give out, i'm bringing the rest in tomorrow'

Ah Debs, no friends :?: Well, you've certainly got plenty on here.

I hate those round robin computerised letters which some people send out with their cards, always boasting about their wonderful lives. I'm missing out anyone who sent one of those.

I'll remember not to include our letter in your card then

I know there are lots of people who don't like them, but some people we know really appreciate them, as we have friends scattered throughout the country so don't see them very much. We have two lists, the 'with letter' list and the 'without letter' list. Sad eh?

haven't even thought about cards yet

Debs i don't really have any friends other than all you guys. I have 'work mates' but other than family hubby and i don't socialise, we're just happy with each others company. We're not people to sit in a bar or go to parties. We'd rather have a nice walk, go for a drive somewhere or just snuggle up in front of the tv. We like the simple things in life :)

Sorry only just got back on-line here. What they mean is those people who write ONE letter on the computer and print off multiple copies to send to everyone they know. They are usually full of how wonderful their holiday was, how great their careers are and that one child has just got 11 grade A's at A level, another has enrolled at the Royal Ballet school, and the eldest is now a qualified as a commercial airline pilot :? They rarely say "How are you?" or add anything that makes it personal to you such as asking about your family, health etc. They really are so annoying a095.gif
I'm with Debs on this one, only really have family as I am a bit of a saddo, with nothing to boast about. I do keep in touch with a couple of old college pals once a year but always enclose a hand written letter and ask about their lives/children etc.
Of course my cyber Christmas card list is huge this year, thanks for that guys a035.gif

Hi, I have an extra 6 cards this year, relatives of Malcolm's who we have got back in touch with, and 1 to remove, Malcolm's brother who we do not wish to keep in touch with, all in all I will be sending or hand delivering about 20, plus about 4 or 5 online cards to cyber friends.

I always send by the first week in december, allowing for strikes by the royal mail, of course, love Jaspercatxx

    Hi Trisher

I think Chris has explained what I mean about those letters. There is one person who sends a letter listing all the plays, operas, concerts, ballets etc she has seen in the year, and saying how sad it must be for me that I live in such a cultural backwater :!:  I haven't seen her for about 20 years. Can you wonder :?: :?:

I pretty much only send cards to family now. It seems that every year I send out loads of cards, each with a personal message in them to friends and workmates but rarely even get a thank you. I've just stopped doing it no one even noticed. When my daughter was born, lots of friends stopped keeping in touch and when I got sick as well the rest (except one) disappeared as well. They're not worth the stamp any more.

    Hi.
Oh Minky and carol, I'll make sure you are on my list. just send my a private message.

I'm going to try and send mine early. I have always designed my own from one of my paintings and I have about 80 cards to send out. We sometimes get some very good computerised christmas and birthday cards from our cousins in Cyprus. They are very good.
I have gone to a lot of trouble and each card is sent out with care so Ithink that's all that matters. and I hope I beat the Royal Mail

    joy
ps. just drop me a line and I will put you on my list. merry christmas every one.
