Lung involement

Hi everyone, :D

I was diagnosed back in April this year with R.A. Before I was put on Meth I had the normal x-rays to check my joints and chest. The chest X-ray showed some fluid on the right lung. To cut a long story short after lots of tests and CTS I have about 2 lt. of fluid on my right lung and nodules and thickening on my left lung. Two weeks ago I was told that its all down to the RA. Has anyone else had these complications as I think its rare for a female who's newly diagnosed to be affected? My Rheumy was convinced it was nothing to do with my RA. As a result I have been taken off the Meth (just as it was starting to work) and put on Sulfasalazine, I have also been on steroids for the past 5 months, which brings on a whole new set of problems. My RA is still very bad, so after nearly 7 months of hell there's still no sign of any relief.
I would love to hear from anyone else who's had the same problems.

    Hi Michelle

I am sorry to hear what you have been through over the past 5 months. I have no answers for you unfortunately but hopefully someone has and we all will offer you lots of sympathy. I do know that RA can affect the lungs and so on and I am very sorry to hear that you are having such problems. I am a little surprised that your rheumi did not think it was anything to do with your RA. .......

I do hope that you get some answers and help soon. Sending you a cyber hug,

    Luv
