    Hi Suzie,

The MRI should show any problems regardless of the pain you are in (I think).

But don't let that stop you from having shopping and lots of sex!

    Hiya

Yep whatever you do inbetween now and your mri will not make any difference but you enjoy yourself! You may suffer from overdoing things :D:lol::lol: but the mri will show the same result - unless you dislocate something in the next 24 hours!

They still can't measure pain, but if they did we would all be top of the list.

Good luck with the MRI for tomorrow
    do report back wont you.

The one I had a couple of weeks ago showed
up damage that was causing the pain in
my lower back, so the scanner does pick things up.

    Hope it goes well,

now dont go overdoing things too much will you.:lol:

Hi MRI scanner gives a fantastic, clear image of the inside of your body, even soft tissues which don't show up on an ordinary x-ray. What the docs will be looking for is damage that has been coming on for years. A bit like rubbing the surface of something with sandpaper. They are looking for damage that your arther has done over a few years or months - not what you did last night! Or at least I hope that is the case, as I may feel slightly embaressed if I thought they could see my recent 'activites' Mind you, I suppose it does depend on what you do so put the chains and that away,

The damage will be there regardless of the pain you are in at the time so don't go making it worse as the MRI results will not be affected.

Why oh why do things calm down when you go for your Rheumy appointment. Pains gone, almost, swelling is down, my hand and wrist are bearable, my hip pain and thigh pain has settled down and my toes and ankles are not locking up. It's a good job that I kept a diary each day of how I felt.

Of course, MRI will show up a problem whether you are in pain or not. Then there are your blood tests. If things have calmed down then it must be a sign that the meds are working. At least you don't have to try something else.

My appointment is on Thursday and I'm just praying he will do something about my hips.
Good luck with the scan. Shall look forward to hearing the results

    Hi Suziev

Whatever you do make sure you DO take your meds before your MRI as you need to lie really still for them to get a good image, also if you are wriggly it can take much longer; and Igathe from what you've said that you want to make surethey do see something. Fingers crossed for anice clear result which illuminates the problems you are having in your hips.
