I failed my medical for DLA in January because i was on a pain free day at the time and the afternoons are the best time for me to appear most agile.I did not appeal but now my pain is so much worse without a days break and i find it harder to do the most simplest things like have a bath or brush my teeth. What i want to know is how long is it before i can apply again, thanks for any advice.

Hi its 3 months between claims to put a fresh claim in.
I would advise getting help from eiter DIAL or CAB for help filling in the forms as they know how to word it properly.
I lost my 1st appeal,2nd time only got Low rate care, but with the help of CAB i got awarded both componients & a life time award.
good luck, remmber sometimes the CAB waiting list can be 6 to 8 wks depending how busy they are.

some other charities can help with form filling too.For example we have a Caring for carers local group and they have helped fill in my DLA forms for me and will go to appeal if need be.I also gothelp from a local autistic group too who helped me fill out forms on my childrens behalf,
Have a look around.

I hope that you do apply again, it seems that so many people get refused, its great when you hear that someone has got it!
The CAB will help or DIAL, will also help you fill the forms in.

Thanks Sue, I've got to leave an appeal for a few more weeks, because they said thatthey would contact me (DLA) to see how I was. If I was worse then they would send me another set of forms
Then, and only then I will go down the road you suggest.
Thanks for the information.
