Hi there all,

I was just wondering if anyone else has had experience with a cold sore on/in their eyes and how long it took to start healing?

I went to the Gp this morning and got some ointment but now it seems even more inflammed than earlier....

I get so nervous with my eyes as it is as I also get Iritis, I don't know if I should leave things a little longer like I used to do before or be high maintenance about it - What do you all tend to do with eye probs??

Hope you are all on good form x

Arna x

    Hi Arna

If you are worried, why not call your gp's secretary/receptionist and ask if your doc will call you and you can mention your concern.

    Hey there,

Thanks Toni and Elna for your replies. I am off to the Doc's again today, my eye is the size of a house
We will just wait and see - gotta love the whole compromised immune system thing, keeps us on our toes one way or another huh!

Hope you two are on good form

    Hi again,

So I hope to have sorted out my eye now.

Went to my GP. They thought I had an ulcer behind my eye and decided to have a 'discreet' conversation with a senior colleague about it in the hall but failed to close the door. They both sounded really alarmed which wasn't nice, then when she came in she tried to act all casual.
Anyway, I was referred to eye casualty straight away and the consultant there thinks it's just a severe infection started by the cold sore because of the drugs I am on so I should take the pills and ointment he has given me and go back to see him in a week...

So hopefully that will be the end of that, fingers crossed :)

    A x

Gosh it sounds scarey to me, I'm so glad you've seen a specialist and have gotten proper treatment. Hope you soon start to see some improvement. If not I'd call them back.

    Hi Arna

So relieved that you sought advice quickly when you knew the script was not working. We know our own bodies more than anyone and any problems with the eyes is not anything that I think should be left any length of time.

As you say, hopefully this will sort the problem out.

    Look after yourself,
