Reeeeally painful foot!

Anyone any hints or advice on how to deal with a v. v. sore foot (ankle, base of foot)?
As soon as it touches the floor in the morning I'm in agony. It does start to ease up by mid-morning (as long as I always have shoes on) but again that feeling of walking on stones comes back by tea-time.
Getting my shoe on is hard enough as it is so a tubi-grip would be out of the question. Shame, as the celecoxib does seem to be helping elsewhere (with inflammation, not pain unfortunately ).

Hi Lois,
Have you tried sitting with your foot on an ice pack for 20 minutes to see if this helps reduce the pain? You can always use some frozen peas but put a damp cloth between your foot and the ice pack to protect your skin. Refreeze the peas to use again but don't eat them or you'll get a bellyache

I am currently going through the same problem. My physio said it is a swollen tendon but I have had it on and off for several years.I see my Rheummy on Thursday and they are going to scan it and if it liquid, which they suspect, they will drain it..I am told.I will report back.

Hi girls and many thanks for your advice:
Valval, I read your post and it gave me an idea - Epsom Salts! Am going to soak my feet tonight in some with warm water and if feet are painful tomorrow morning, will send OH downstairs to prepare some for me before he heads off to sons' footie match!
Lindalegs, OH enjoys running and has peas in the freezer (with big sticker on reminding me not to cook THOSE ones!) for when he gets home - I will nab them!
Elizabeth, good luck with your rheummy. When I went to the docs about my painful clicking shoulders, he suggested tendonitis - do you get the feeling that if in doubt, diagnose tendonitis?! Hope you get on better with the rheummy.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but it's good not to be suffering alone. Although in an ideal world none of us should be suffering!0
